Good value for price - stayed there for 5 nights for a very affordable price. A step up from a true hostel, but not quite a full service hotel. Customer service was good - we arrived late, phoned ahead and the clerk stayed late to see us in. Cheap private rooms are in the basement, not the greatest sleep quality, but hey, we're traveling on a budget and aren't in the rooms except to sleep. Free wi-fi was nice. Breakfast was decent but grew to be a bit repetitive, it could stand to have some variety and more fruits, however the marmalade and coffee was very good. Moroccan decorations were nice, overall an enjoyable experience.

Room Tip: The cheapest rooms are in the basement of the hotel. If you go the cheap room route ask to not be in...

The place is very cozy, with tea areas inside and the breakfast (till 11am) is in a very nice terrace with coffee, bread, pastries, cereals, butter and jams and honey in a broad zone, till 11:30am. You can also use the kitchen which is a plus for anyone who fancies cooking!

The reception staffs, especially Rachel, are very friendly and willing to make good recommendations.

The location in the city is good, with some hard streets to reach it, but this is inevitable in Porto city!

We spent 4 nights in room No. 21, double with a bathroom and a window. Daily cleaning and towels very good, usually you find exfoliating towelsL So, if you are spending little time in the room is not problematic in terms of size, I mean is a room on the small side for two people, but what has displeased us was that bathroom pipes smell really bad and also was too noise during the night because the square with kids drinking and talking till early morning making sleep has been difficult.

If I coming back to Oporto I would ask for another room or I would choose another accommodation!

Room Tip: I would not get room number 21, but I do not about the others.

Stayed here on a (well behaved) stag do in a dorm of 6 and we had another room of 5. The hosts are really laid back and accomodating and provide clean rooms/shower.

A nice relaxing outside court yard was perfect for a warm up €1.50 Super Bock.
Reception were great at organising cabs for us and telling us best areas to visit. There is also Free Wifi for all guests and free use of a computer if you need it.

Porto Riad is a 'designer' hostel/hotel/B&B, with a Moroccan twist. It is situated just outside the city center, though fairly easy to reach by subway (get off at Trinidade station - then a 10 minute walk uphill). The hostel consists of a pre war house and a smallish garden. It is decorated with Moroccan furniture, carpets and nicknacks, giving it an oriental look. The room I was in (single room/shared bathroom) was rather small, but it had everything you could possibly want. The bathroom was just across the hall and I seemed to be the only one using it. The bed, however, was a dud: it creaked and rattled with every move and the mattress was to threadbare that the metal springs left marks on my back (not really, just adding to the drama....).
The breakfast was served from 08:00 onwards and was quite nice: fresh rolls, REALLY good coffee (!!) and tea and cheese/ham/marmalade.
Overall I'd say this hostel is definitely worth the €, but a change of beds/mattresses would not hurt.

This place is just perfect; rooms are clean and quiet, staff is very nice, breakfast is great (followed by the relaxing music)! The position of the hostel is very convenient. Hostel is also very well and furnished. So unique. And all that for a reasonable price. My husband and I were there for 4 days and we enjoyed staying in this magical place. We would definitely come back here the next time we're in Porto!
