Exactly what we needed and more. Was clean, breakfast and rooms were good. Very close to the city centre. The staff were the best and extremely nice and helpful.

If you're 30 years old or older and staying on a weekend you're not going to be happy at Spot Hostel. It is a beautiful place; it's clean, the staff are great, the bed is comfy and the shower is the best of any hostel we've been to, but on weekends the noise is ridiculous... the travelers are young, rude, dirty and LOUD, and there's not much the night staff can/will do to help. What a shame, because we really liked the employees and the hostel itself. If you like to party there's a bar right downstairs and snotty girls putting on makeup for hours in every bathroom (not enough toilets for the number of guests).

Sorry Spot Hostel! I had to warn other "old people". Weekdays were bearable but you won't get any sleep on Fri or Sat nights.

We recently stayed at Spot Hostel and cannot speak more highly of this hostel. The building is beautiful, thoughtfully renovated and tastefully decorated.

Our double room was a good size, well furnished and very clean. The shared bathroom was modern, well designed and again, spotlessly clean.

The kitchen was well laid out and well equipped. My only criticism would be that when the hostel was full, it might be standing room only at breakfast time (breakfast is included) as there were only a few tables.

The staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about Porto.

We really enjoyed our time in Porto and Spot Hostel. If I get back to Porto, I will be heading straight to the Spot!

My favourite hostel ever. I can not say enough nice things about this place. The staff are amazing, the building is beautiful, the rooms are perfect. Excellent kitchen, loungeroom, computer room with wifi, free tea and coffee, free breakfast, great showers. Service is outstanding and the price is great. Thanks to all the staff, you´re amazing!!!! Have never experienced anything like the service, warmth and hospitality in this place!

Travelling with 2 teenage daughters and we couldn't have had a better place to spend the night ! The Porto Spot Hostel only opened this year and will be turning people away by next summer.
As other reviewers have said, the rooms are large and high ceilinged with comfortable bunks. Cleanliness seems to be a top priority here and it shows.
Decor is minimalist and inspired. Absolutely lovely hostel with wood floors, communal lounge, computer room / library, kitchen, bar and outside enclosed (private) patio. Homecooked meals (we had the bachalau) are wonderful and plentiful .
An easy walk into town, lots of shopping near by and close to metro. Bus stops right across the road.
We were in Portugal for 17 days and this is by far, one of our favourite places. I couldn't have felt safer or more welcomed. Way to go - best of luck in the future. With this start, it can't help but be a HUGE success !!!

Being a frequent hostel go-er throughout Europe, Spot Hostel Porto has definitely been one of the most outstanding. I can't stop raving about the quality of the service. From the large, high ceiling rooms, comfortable beds, excellent amenities down to the tastefully done décor. Showers are clean with large shower heads with plenty of pressure and heat. Most importantly, the service is excellent. We spent many hours chatting with the friendly staff and just lazing around the premises.

Easily accessible from the airport via Metro and the main port and heart of the city is a short 10 minute walk. Only regret is not staying to try one of the home cooked meals! Would definitely return and highly recommend. Excellent value - Good work guys!

i stayed at the Spot Hostel within a party of four (two couples) who'd hired a car and travelled from Porto up to NW Spain. we're a bit old for bunk bed dorms, so booked 2 double rooms instead, and shared adjoining bathroom.
Compared to the 3* hotels we stayed at on this trip, the Spot Hostel blew them out of the water. Staff were beyond helpful and created a fantastic atmosphere (especially with the World Cup on big screen in the downstairs courtyard), and our rooms were large and sparkling new. We didn't miss having a TV or minibar in our room when there was better facilities in the communal areas. The wireless internet signal was too weak to use in my room (in the top corner of the building) but there were plenty of private, comfortable spots within the hostel, plus a computer room with two online work stations.
I couldn't recommend this hostel more!
