“My first Francesinha experience!”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

Went here with two friends after hearing they had the best Francesinha in Porto. Im not sure which of the restaurants I visited since there are two with the same name on the same street, I ate at the bigger one. Never had this dish before so I can't compare it, but it was really nice. Lots of cheese, tasty meat, tasteful but not too spicy sauce. Fries where covered in sauce which made them soft, and although I would prefer having them on the side, the dish is supposed to be that way and therefor I can live with it. Good service. It took us about 30 min to get the food but the place was crowded. It wasnt very cosy, extremly noisy, unstable plastic tables etc.. but this place is about the Francesinha, and I have no complains about it whatsoever. You should try it!

“Considered one of the best francesinhas in town”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

The food is really good and good quality-price. Although the waiters are serious, I can asure you they do the best they can so that you can enjoy your meal. Prove of it are the amount of people waiting to be seated.

Its better to come from Monday to Friday for lunch. Not so many people at that time...

“As you have to eat a francesinha in Porto, Cafe Santiago is a must”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

You cannot go at Porto without eating a francesinha. And, for the local, Cafe Santiago is da best! And it is true. Francesinha is a sandwich. It is (for someone from Quebec) a mix of a "poutine" and a hot chicken. The sandwich is fille with sausage, steak, ham and covered with melted cheese and a hot thick tomato and beer sauce served with french fries. You will need to run a 5 km or walk a 15 km after this. Don't look at the calories, this is really good. For foodies! service was attentive and professional. A must while being in Porto. (By the way you will see next door another Cafe Santiago, it belong to the son of the owner of the original Cafe Santiago. The server told us that it is as good as the original)

“Worth to try..!”
Reviewed 21 June 2014

Place is nice, crowded, centrally located, and what is most important, francesinha is great. We have tried it also in few other places, not so "famous", and this famous Porto dish was also with very good quality. I disagree with some comments that this place is cheap! It is quite expensive, comparing with other local restaurants. You can try this famous dish here for 9.75€, and in other local restaurants you can find it (same quality) for 6€. Sometimes including one drink. So, finally, francesinha is very good, service is fast and good, wi-fi is working well. But for next time my choice would be more authentic and much cheaper place.
