“The vista over the gorge”
Reviewed 20 April 2014

Travelling by car from south to north of the city of Porto, wow, the view across and down the river gorge, driving over the road bridge separating the two sides of the city, just BREATHTAKING and absolutely WORLD CLASS.

The port Houses side of the river bank is a wonderful area to spend a little time and visit one of the Port Houses, say Sandeman's, but take care that you get the timing right coz of the visiting and tour opening hours.

Car parking is available along the riverbank but ensure you park facing the directional flow or you might get a parking ticket !

Coffee houses, cafes, restaurants abound and there is an ancient indoor market place too. And if your timing is good you can park for free at the rear of this which runs parallel to the main drag thru'.

This is one of the exceptional world class places to visit if you're interested in port to drink !

“City sightseeing, red busses”
Reviewed 13 April 2014

Horrible Cityseeing bustours by "red busses"! 12.-13. April visited in Porto and took two days ticket to these red busses. I have good experience about these busses from Cape Town and Barcelona, but it didn't work in Porto:
- busses intervals passing bus stops is over 30min,
- busses too full of passangers, i.e. Passangers standing on both levels, really standing people on upper level too!!
- busses seems like taking their last breaths! (sound from the machine, difficulties to climb uphills)
- while I was standing on bus stop, yellow busses seemed to run with shorter interwalls and also seems to be newer bus cars. - Next time I prefer yellow ones.

“Save your money”
Reviewed 6 April 2014 via mobile

You don't get any value for money from this tour. There is nowhere the bus takes you that you can't get by walking, or on the metro for less than €2, aside from the extremely run down beach area. Moreover, the buses were extremely unreliable - supposedly every 30 minutes but we were waiting for well over an hour at one point with no indication of when the next bus would arrive. Save your money. If you want to travel along the river do so by boat, you'll still be better off buying just a river cruise.

“If you don't have lots of time do this!”
Reviewed 3 November 2013

Purchased a 2 day Hop on Hop off ticket as well as the 6 Bridges Cruise for 18 Euros each. The boat tour is 1 hour long. But the bus.. you have access to both the red and blue line. Red is Porto and blue takes you into Gaia. Worth every cent. Stay on the bus for the whole tour so you can see where you want to get off and explore. We spent a good part of the first day at the beach. The second day we used it to the max. We were able to see so much more of Porto this way. What a great deal.

“Bargain ticket, the commentary could have been better”
Reviewed 23 October 2013 via mobile

We purchased the 20 euro 48 hour ticket which proved to be a total bargain. It included a boat trip as well as entrance and tasting at a port cave. The commentary was quite quiet on the first bus we were on but was more understandable on others. The were frequent (every 30 mins) and take you all over the city. Overall, it was a really good buy and well enjoyed.
