We enjoyed 3 nights in this centrally located hotel which has about 100 rooms. They were full but this didn't impact service which was impeccable. We even had a few glitches on the first day and staff ensured that all issues were addressed promptly and with a smile. Our stay was perfect. There was always a very knowledgeable concierge at the front directing you to local restaurants and places to buy port. Our room on the fourth floor was quiet and very comfortable except for the air conditioner which was somewhat noisy. The downstairs wood panel bar is cozy and on some nights includes exceptional singers. The bar also will bring you delicious hamburgers from the hotel's restaurant. Breakfast included hot foods, cheeses, cereals, breads, and coffee prepared as you like it. I didn't need to eat lunch! Massages are professional and excellent. They arranged a private tour of the Douro Valley for us...flawless. Book in advance.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room, ask for a room in the center or opposite the train station. The acoustics are good so most rooms are quiet anyway.

Our first trip to Porto and this hotel lived up to all the reviews we had read. Great staff- plaudits to Rogerio for selecting good restaurants and making all arrangements for transfers and suggesting places to visit. The hotel occupies a central location with easy walking access to most sights. probably not the best place for a great night's sleep at the weekend as you are on the main square with plenty of traffic and a few revellers. Having said that it's a gorgeous old building that has been refurbished to a high standard and we'd definitely use again.

Room Tip: executive rooms face the front and may be noisier than the cheaper deluxe rooms at the back

Very inviting from the moment one steps in. Extremely hospitable courteous and helpful. Furnished elegantly but not over done. Great library bar with polished wood floors and appointments. Wifi available the perfect place for afteroon recluse with coffee or drink of choice.
Comfortable rooms and beds.

We spent one night here after a couple of nights in the Douro Valley. The staff could not be more accommodating and friendly. Due to an extremely early flight out of Porto, we grazed on some appetizers and port in the beautiful bar. When the staff heard we were leaving at 4:00 AM, we were greeted with a continental breakfast in the lobby, complete with silver service, before our departure!

Our room was smallish, but apparently this is par for the course in Porto. A/C could be beefed up a bit with better circulation. The bathroom was beautiful and everything was spotless.

We were looking for 2 beds rooms And this hotel was one of the few that have it.

Everything is wonderful except for the Room lights at night. There were just a few lamps And it looks kind of scary.

The Rest of it was wonderful
