“very nice hotel, but... watch out for extras...”
Reviewed 3 August 2010

we really liked this hotel. very clean. The rooms are rather small, but not too much so.

the only thing we didn't like about this place was all the extras... parking was extra (7,5 euros day), safe was extra (2 euros a day), wi-fi internet was extra (5 euros for 60 minute, 1 time use... once you start, you have 60 minutes use then it stops...)

If it weren't for that , we would have rated this hotel with 4 stars...

Still a nice place to go, close to everything, and right across the street is a nice restaurant called triumphante II... cheap and very good, even if the looks are very average.

Hotel is not in the very center of the city, but close to a metro station. It is a very tall tower.
Rooms are rather small, air conditioning doesn't really make air cooler.
Shower is OK.
There is noise from other rooms and outside air conditioning.
Breakfast is rather poor in quality and variety.
This hotel is a favourite place for large tourist groups from Spain who come in buses, so if you are unlucky, you might end up waiting long at check-in or in front of the lift.

I spent 2 nights in this hotel.
this is an old hotel, smelling cigarette. the reception staff could be more symphatetic - all of them are rude.
the rooms need to be refurbished. the air-conditioning is very noise.
breakfast reastaurant was crowded. on sunday morning we took more than 15 minutes to be able to enter in the lift with the luggage.
the internet in my room was not working.
the parking is always full at night and the guests to park some blocks away.
to use the swimming pool and the gym you have to pay 10 euros a day.

This is a very big hotel with many floors. We stayed on a higher room that gave us a good view of the city. The room has good furniture and it’s clean and spacious. The breakfast it’s also very good, with many options and quantity. As the hotel is very big, the breakfast room is a little confuse with many people, but nothing that could stress you. Although the location of the hotel is not in the city centre, with a 20 minutes walk you can reach the city main spots and at the same time you can feel the city life. The hotel has a paid parking but you can park you car freely on the near streets as you have some free options (they are not many but at night it was not very difficult to find a place).

Joined my partner here for 2 nights and had booked a suite to stay in. Price wise - there is not a big difference in the cost so would recommend the suite for extra space or a family with 2 small children. My only annoyance was the bed was 2 singles next to each other which was uncomfortable for a couple but is common on the continent. Bedroom & lounge are separated by a arch frameway but both sides of room have a small plasma with good selection of language channels. Can hear the breeze on 9th floor so if you're a light sleeper, ask for a lower floor but it didn't bother us. The room is old fashioned and in need of a good refurb. Staff are pleasant and helpful and most speak English. Restaurant serves a nice breakfast with a very large buffet choice. The bar has live music even on a Tuesday night which is nice while still comfortable. Nice cocktails at very good prices. I would recommend this for anyone on a budget, looking for a nice clean hotel with friendly staff and close to the centre.

Ok place, 20 mins walk into town but close to a tube if you want to travel round that way. Staff wouldn't let us check in as we were too early - it was 13.45 and check in was strictly 14.00 - they made us stand there for 15 mins! Pool is tiny and it costs a lot to use it - go and have a look at it before you part with your cash. Concierge very helpful, organised a rental car for my Mum and I and they had it delivered to the hotel and collected from the hotel. Breakfast, fairly good with a large selcetion. Overall I would probably stay again but I am sure the same price would get better service from a smaller hotel. It does what its says on the tin but does not try to exceed your expectations of a large chain hotel.

Easy to get to from the airport , over the road from metro stop , not much in local area but it is within walking disatnce of everything if you don't mind a walk. Buy a three day pass from tourist info at airport for the metro (11 euros ) if you don't. Restuarnt opposite calle Triumphante ( I think ) excellent food & Service and very cheap , also pinguin cafe opposite the metro entrance good for snacks and coffee . Breakfast at the hotel good.Ask for a room low down if it is windy as we were on the 13th floor and the noise kept us awake.
