It is a great place to stay with unmatched hospitality. A special word for the reception staff, particularly Maria and Mario, who went the extra mile whenever a service was requested. The catering staff was also very good. The rooms were clean and well equipped. Location is excellent.

We had high expectations about this hotel, since we'd been there a couple of years ago and it was great. The first time we had a huge duplex with kitchen and living room downstairs and lovely big bedroom upstairs, very smartly appointed. But this time round -because the hotel was packed, so they said- we were given room 001, in the basement. This is a standard bedroom with a small kitchen and views to the...carpark. It was actually next to the famous car lift. There was nothing wrong with the room itself, it was simply disappointing. The staff is friendly and helpful as usual.
Breakfast is still served in the same cramped room with only 5 tables. However, one has the option of being served breakfast in the room, if you like that kind of thing. I don't. We saw the annex that is being currently work in progress at the other side of the courtyard. I must say it looks very nice and elegant, like a classical style villa. Maybe we'll return once it's completed, so we can get a nice new bedroom.

Room Tip: Ask not to be given a room in the basement, but a duplex looking to the courtyard.

We spent two nights at Vitoria Village while on an excursion from our vacation (based in Lisbon). We were originally going to stay one night, and decided that since we really loved Porto, we wanted to add on another night. The staff made the accommodations without hesitation, though we did have to change rooms - we didn't mind at all, since we had changed the plan, but the staff was incredibly apologetic and actually moved all our belongings for us while we were sightseeing for the day, which was much appreciated.

The rooms (suites, really, as they have full-sized kitchens) are spacious, clean, and have simple but elegant decor - we especially loved the fun wallpaper and the bedside lamps. The bathrooms were some of the largest we saw in Portugal, so we were never crowded while getting ready in the morning. The breakfast was served in a small area across the courtyard, and had plenty of options to keep us full until lunch (cereal, breads/pastries, fruit, yogurt, cheese, meat, coffee, juice). The hotel is conveniently-located in the heart of the city and it is easy to walk right down to the riverfront or the shopping areas (though do note that it's pretty difficult to find if driving your own car, but this is more due to the nature of the small/winding and often one-way roads in Porto). We loved having such quick and easy access to the city while staying in a very safe area.

A few additional details: The staff at the front desk were consistently friendly and helpful. The best part was that we were given a glass of port wine to drink while checking in to the hotel! There is also free parking on-site, which was helpful for us since we had rented a car to drive from Sintra. I would highly recommend staying in this hotel when you visit Porto!

If you want to stay in Porto then don't look elsewhere. The Vitoria has it all.

Arriving on a dark and very wet January night, soaked to the bone, we were given such a warm welcome by Maria. She gave us a glass of port wine to warm us up and went on to tell us what to see in the city in great detail, evening asking what kind of food we like so that she could recommend restaurants.

Our spacious apartment was on the 1st floor with a view of the cathedral. Very comfortable bed, nice bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. Free wifi worked perfectly.

Breakfast was taken in a small room, only a few tables so could get tight. There was only a relatively small selection but it was more than adequate.

Porto is beautiful and so easy to get about on foot. There's a bus from the airport to the stop at Praca de Lisboa, from there it's a short walk to the Vitoria. One of our group couldn't make it and Maria very kindly organised a reduction in the rate for us, a very nice touch.

All in all the perfect place to stay in this lovely city.

It all starts with an amazing and most welcoming staff.
Perfect location, all within a 15 mn walk from the hotel. If you're into nightlife, the bars and clubs spot is a 5 mn walk.
Marco gave me a brief about the city and all the needed suggestions for a day tour and Maria was simply the perfect host (todos no chão ;-)
The room is clean, comfortable and very spacious. The kitchenette is very well equipped.
Breakfast is served in a tiny room but very cosy and you'll get to taste all the Oporto delights.
Warmly recommended, don't look elsewhere.

Room Tip: Same standard in all rooms.
