João is a fantastic host: fresh oranges from his parent's farm, a homemade cake, a bottle of port on the mantle, and kindness and helpfulness. Staying here is more like staying in a friend's apartment (or having your own that you share with friendly flatmates!). It's all done in very very good taste and fitted with beautifully selected 50s furnishings. It couldn't be more central: a block from the main square of the upper town, where all the nightlife, which starts late, is located (much better in my opinion than staying in the lower town). Our room was both good value and very clean. Only to be recommended!
