“Beautiful cathedral”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

Worth spending some time wandering through the interior as well as the outside of this cathedral! Didn't see the cloisters yet but plan to do so before we leave Porto.

“Worth a visit, but nothing spectacular ”
Reviewed 27 July 2014 via mobile

The church is free entry but to see the cloister and the treasury it costs money. I left feeling it should've been free. Worth a look as it has some beautiful Romanesque arches with tiny little windows.

“Good views from there.”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

Cathedral is pretty plain though massive. Fun statue of knight that liberated Portugal from the Moors, great views out over the city make it worth the uphill walk.

“it has to be a must”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

By the time we got to the Cathedral , just before sunset , the place was already closed . So we never made it inside BUT : It has to be a must ! The immense powerfull building , its location on top of the hill , the large square infront of it , the beautiful panorama , looking at the city below from the edge of this square - promise to have a great church inside .
We brought a bottle of red wine with us , with some dry soft smelly cheese , some crackers and a few fresh bread rolls , and we had a party sitting on the wide stairs at the side of the square that leed to the river , and enjoyed looking at a young couple , soon to be married , beeing photograghed before their ceremony , waving for them and wishing them good luck !!
So excuse me if we didn't make it to the inside . I'm sure it has to be a must !! You decide .

“On the hill”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

Visited inside to get camino stamp book which happened to be during a church service. The acoustics were unreal. The ceilings are very high and actually this cathedral inside is not nearly as richly decorated as others I have visited. Very cool inside as well due to all the stonework.
