We bought our ticket for the Douro Acima 6 Bridges Tour from Sandeman during our free walking tour. Whilst we thought the walking tour was great, Sandeman should be ashamed of themselves for selling tickets to this cruise which was just terrible. We were asked if we wanted the ‘English’ cruise expecting there might be some sort of commentary which would have improved the experience but what we discovered was a boat full of people huddled on board out of the rain, standing room only...........looking absolutely miserable - we couldn’t wait for the 50 mins to be up, the biggest waste of 15Euros each during our stay and it could be so much better with a little effort from the company. Sadly they are not interested in customer satisfaction just taking the money.

I felt that this cruize is a real tourist trap that churns hundreds of people on their boats every day.
We arrived at 3.15pm for the cruize starting at 3.30pm. We had already bought our tickets via Sandemans, but no one told us we had to go to the information desk on the quay to book a specific time slot. When we were told, the 3.30pm cruize was fully booked and we were registered on the 4pm. We then waited 1.30 hour standing under the sun (I am 6 months pregnant and did not appreciate it) and the staff members kept assuring us we would leave on time. In the end, the boat departed at 4.40 pm.

The cruize itself is not really worth 15 euros, especially because we could not hear the comments. We were supposed to get head phones to hear the comments (I asked 2 members of the staff beforehand and they confirmed that to me, as it was indicated by a picture on the quay), but there were no head phones, just speakers that no one could hear.
It was a waste of time and money.

Terrible "cruise". Crowded boat only room left to sit inside where we were nearly overwhelmed by diesel fumes.

No information given regarding the bridges or buildings on the Riverside. Two ladies stood behind the bar for the whole cruise but when approached they said it was not possible to buy a drink and this service was only available for special occasions. So why stand behind a bar?

There was no audio and none was offered.

Very disappointed. We wish we had researched better before booking this truly dreadful experience

Quite crowded, even if one manages to get a seat the standing people block any view so you are required to stand to see anything.
States that the cruise is 50 minutes, however it actually works out to be around 35 minutes. Guess it's all about making a dollar by speeding up and pushing people through the turnstile.
I would suggest searching for a more pleasant cruising experience even if it costs a little more, as the Douro River is beautiful.
