I was taken back by a review from someone who had a bad experience and advised everyone not to stay there. Whatever happened to him I do not want to know, our experience was the opposite: a wonderful location close to the Atlantic, with a fabulous view from the rooftop restaurant. Also the room was great and service ok. We had also dinner one eve in the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. It is easy to get to Porto with bus 500 ( 15 minutes), but you can also rent a bike or just walk, like we did" a pleasant walk of an hour along the Douro river.

Room Tip: it is a few euro's more , but then you have a room with seaview and be sure to say you want a no...

Think twice if you need to stay here; bad service and very bad treat from the personnel. I had a terrible experience two days ago during my stay... This is a warning.... Really dont stayhere if you're not obliged to.
I left the hotel for meetings at around 8 am after breakfast on thursday (which was badly served and poor). Had meetings all day and returned at 11 pm, very tired and only wanting to sleep. Went to the doorof my room and realised the card wasnt working. Went downstairs to check with reception, the girl at reception, with a worried face told me i had to pay because the window was broken. She said her boss told them to charge me something broken at the room.. Me having no idea what was broken, very surprised and trying to understand what was going on, realised afterwards that probably the housekeeping broke the big glass on the table of the room and told them I did it.
After having a fight and trying to understand if all my stuff was fine, filled in the form and went to my room.
Not only i was extremely tired because of all this but also pissed off, worried, feeling very insecure and wanting to stay at another hotel.
They treated my very badly in fact i had no idea what was broken
This is also not a user friendly hotel. they put 2 meter glass windows on tables which are being broken by house keeping and trying to charge you for that in a very rude manner
Also the service at the upstairs restaurant is horrible. The guy never smiles, serves you as if he s doing you a favour
I ve never seen such bad service and rudepeople together.
Dont choose this hotel if you ve no other options

beautiful view of ocean and convinient location to city center and airport makes this hotel a very nice solution for your stay in Porto.

Room Tip: pls ask for ocean view otherwize you may get a very dark room.

The hotel has fabulous views of the mouth of the River Douro and the Atlantic and the rooftop terrace bar and pool take full advantage. Very friendly and obliging staff, rooms are tidy have exceptional water pressure in the shower. They could improve the breakfast a bit. Overall very comfortable with quick and easy links into Old Porto or up to Matosinhos. Nearby restaurants are excellent as well.

Room Tip: Go for a room with Atlantic view.

I had the pleasure of stopping 2 nights on business last week. Great hotel, lovely big room double wardbrobe and the room over looked the castle and the Atlantic. The staff were great couldn't ask for more. The self service breakfast was fine too. All in all I'd defo go again really clean and tidy hotel with good staff, the roof top bar is good and the bar man knew the drinks well even giving me a free little taste of what he considered to be the best port he had. Brill place can't recommend high enough

We normally stay in 4-5* accomodation but a friend living in Portugal recommended. It is a 3* Hotel in a picturesque location at the mouth of the Douro with a roof top garden to die for. The rooms were clean though basic and we thought the breakfast was fine. I note adverse comments from previous reviews but I have experienced a lot worse breakfasts and accomodation from supposed superior hotels in London and elsewhere that cost a heck of a lot more. You get what you pay for so it is unrealistic for people to expect 5* service etc from a 3* price; get real! It is some way from city centre but near some great shops and good restaurants.

It was excellent value for a short stay and we would stay again.

Room Tip: Walk down from hotel and keep left for about 400 metres; take the old style tram from the terminus i...
