Located in the heart of the world heritage area, just up from the Bolsa, a little down from Sao Bento railway and metro station. The area is still quite run down, as indeed is much of central Oporto.
Reception was friendly and efficient. There is a bar and a lounge. Half an hour´s free internet use on a guest computer at reception, reasonable rates for extended use in the business centre. a stray bar-bill erroneously posted to my account was removed without argument.
I had a 4th floor room with a view over the rather rickety roofs of old Oporto and their noisy seagulls. I had single use of a triple room. The third bed was in an alcove by the entrance door. The main part of the room was fair-sized. clean. adequate lighting, storage space. Room safe (though mine had been left locked by a previous guest and had not been opened by the hotel), so-so room heating. Poorly tuned Television with ITV. No fridge/mini-bar. Clean.
Bathroom well lit, sachets of shower gel, narrow but effective shower/ bath. Non-working heater. Clean
Breakfast was a reasonable cold buffet in a pleasant room. Squeeze your own orange juice. Weak coffee. Cereals (muesli until it ran out), bread, processed cheese, some pastries.
