The location is perfect, close to the main touristic points. Rooms are clean, modern. The hotel offers parking at a special rate, which is convenient. Breakfast good, with a sole minus, the coffee. Staff very helpfull. Really enjoyed the stay.

stayed here for a week in August, very clean and tidy, breakfast simple, but ok, the staff are nice, and very helpful, it's very central, close to shops, bars cafes etc, about five minutes walk from riverside, also very close to Metro, tram and bus's, all in all to be highly recommended.

Ideal position both for the Douro river and historic centre. Friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of choice on the buffet breakfast. Porto is great for a city break. Plenty to see and do, including river trips (from 1 hour to full day). Hop on,hop off buses and old trams for sightseeing.

This is the fifth hotel I have used in Porto and the best. Ideally situated only about 300 metres from the river. Good size rooms and well fitted, staff very friendly and helpful. Nice bar, bottles of wine only 10 euros. Good selection of food and drinks at the cold breakfast buffet. Close to the city centre and the port houses. So pleased I have already booked to go back with friends in October.
Have found over the years we have been going to Porto that the restaurants on the port house side of the river are far better value. Try the bar on the old bridge support, nice views over the river, it's next to the main bridge on the city side. Besides the obvious visits to the port houses look out for the Kopke shop on the road alongside the river, it's between Calum's and Sandimans, excellent port served with chocolates. If you want a real treat find Taylor's port house and have lunch in their restaurant, excellent food, wine and port and great views over the river and city.

Room Tip: We were on the first floor, our friends two floors up, both had good rooms, so cannot help.

It's not the fanciest or most modern hotel, but it is in a great location, the rooms are large and comfortable, the rates are affordable, and the staff were extremely friendly and kind to us. They welcomed us warmly, provided us with great tips on where to go and what to see in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and were extremely helpful in planning our connections to the airport and tour of the city. The room was a little antiquated but a good size and not without its own charm. It was also exceptionally good value and very quiet, despite being in the very heart of the city, surrounded by bars, restaurants and clubs. I will definitely stay here again when I next visit the city.

This is a nice small hotel in an ideal location, as it's close to the riverfront (Ribeira) without being actually on it which is noisy. Only 5 minutes walk from the Metro station too, (S.Bento), and near to the wonderful double storey bridge with access to the other bank and the Port lodges there. I stayed in two different rooms, both of reasonable size, clean, with good facilities. Staff were née and helpful and the breakfast fine - the ancient orange juicer was fun to use! The only downside was a little noise from the traffic, although it's not on a major road, and the seagulls which cannot be avoided in the city. Somehow my two night booking had been booked as only one night, but the friendly staff were very apologetic and arranged another room with a small discount: we all make mistakes!

Room Tip: Go for a back room - not such a good view but quieter

We were careful about location in Porto - wanted to be near the sights and avoid to much hill walking. The Da Bolsa was perfect in this respect and also great value. The room and service were fine and we didn't experience much street noise (as others have complained). Our one & only criticism would be that the very comfortable & functional bar simply wasn't utilised enough - rarely staffed during the day when it would have been an ideal meeting place, even just for coffee. Great stay.
