“Warm and interesting”
Reviewed 2 April 2014

We stopped by for cafe and a bit of sweets. The wait staff was wonderful - all totally European style: no problem! Interesting to see how everyone flocks there, locals and visitors alike.

“A disappointing reflection of times past.”
Reviewed 16 March 2014

This Cafe was recommended for us as tourists to visit. We made our way across the city passing many busy cafés on route only to find the Majestic all but empty and it was late morning. Undeterred we ordered coffee and it was far from fresh, I returned mine and reordered this was rectified and although I was given what I asked for but it didn't have the quality I'd have expected. It now became apparent why there were so few people in the café. Like so many others whilst we were there we should have taken a photo from the door and passed on. The beautiful brass on the doors had not seen polish for a while and the mirrors needed re silvering! It did not live up to its majestic past......

“The majestic Majestic!”
Reviewed 8 January 2014

A truly wonderful elegant classic cafe, full of art nouveau character and grace. It is not cheap and you may have to queue to get in but it totally transports you back to another era with its immaculately uniformed staff. Their french toast is to die for!! Don't miss.

“I didn't get it.”
Reviewed 15 November 2013

The Majestic Café is on all the lists of things to do in Lisbon and the concierge in the hotel suggested it as well. Our family of five stopped here for dinner. The food was overpriced and not very good. The tables were small and the service was slow because of the crowded conditions. We really didn't understand why it is so famous. We read the story on the placemat and still didn't get it. If you are in the area, go ahead and take a break for tea or beverage and maybe a light snack, but nothing else.

“Nice place for a glass of port”
Reviewed 10 November 2013 via mobile

The interior of the Majestic is worthy of a visit, so to sit and enjoy a glass of port with friends and sample the old world charm of this historic cafe should be a 'must do' when in Porto.

Service was friendly and prompt and we were lucky that there was a table available when we walked in.
