We visited this wonderful quaint cafe/deli after reading all the excellent reviews here on Tripadvisor, how someone could have a bad experience here is beyond me !. It is away from the Ribeira zone and it is only a 5 minute walk to S.Bento train station.

At Mercearia Das Flores they serve wonderful Portuguese Products and you can also buy a great range of these products from the shop as it is also an upmarket grocery store selling Wine, Cheeses, olive oil etc.

They serve light meals that will suffice for a lunch and a lovely selection of wines by the glass and of course the locally brewed beer Sovina from a small brewery in Porto which my husband enjoyed.

We made a point of visiting this beautiful eatery twice on our 4 day trip as the food and service were just superb and the owner Joana was a pleasure to talk to,

If you like like small quaint eateries that are a world apart from the normal tourist haunts then make the trip to Mercearia Das Flores !

Porto is such a welcoming City and we got a lovely hospitable welcome from this establisment on our first day in this great City, we wish them many years of successful trading as they are passionate about what they do. This is clearly reflected in the decor and the food that they sell

Enjoy your visit

One of the best surprises during the stay in Porto. A beautiful little wine and cheese shop of local (!) products.
Great selection of cheeses, black pork, tinned fish, olives and wines. My personal favorite was the piripiri jam.

Go to have a snack there when in the neighborhood or simply take it to go. Deliciousness guaranteed!

Ok, good tapas-y plates for lunch, don't really understand how it's the 14th best restaurant in Porto, but it's good but there's not a very long menu and really it's just nothing special.

A nice traditional deli cum cafe cum bar a 5 mins walk downhill from Sao Bento Railway Station. It has a really chilled out feel and the staff were really friendly. We arrived at about 1900 and managed to get One of the Five tables on the inside. All food is freshly prepared and was really good. We tried local meats cheeses and bread as well as olives ,toasted almonds and a mixed salad. For desert we had the delicious lemon pie. Another interesting fact about this place is that they sell local beers from a small independent brewery called Sovina. One beer was on draught with another Four in bottles and they were all in good condition.

While wondering through streets of Porto we came across this delicatessen spot, cozy interior and very kind staff. Delicious sandwiches, authentic Portuguese cheese, olives and fantastic bread. I could not stop praising the bread and when we were living very kind waitress gave us a loaf of home made bread and she didn't want to charge it!!
Absolutely worth visiting.
