When I booked this hotel I knew the location wasn't great but as it was just for an overnight stay at the end of a week in Porto and Guimaraes that wasn't an issue. I was with my nine year old son who was done with sightseeing and we were looking for a comfortable hotel with a pool and restaurant where we could spend our last afternoon relaxing.
The hotel was OK, but not quite what I was expecting. The rooms were dated and the pool so much smaller than it looked in the pictures. It was also unheated so far too cold for a swim in April even though it had been a hot week.
We had planned to have dinner at the hotel, which was just as well as there literally doesn't seem to be anything around. Food was OK and prices weren't bad for a hotel restaurant. Breakfast was pretty good.
The staff were friendly, but overall I found the hotel a little tired and impersonal. It's definitely not the kind of place I'd usually stay in on a holiday, but as we were there for less than 24 hours it suited our needs.More
