The location of this hotel is excellent. You can easily walk to the city center as we did every day. There are also few stores, bars and restaurants near by.

Free WiFi was good although a bit slow speed and the 24h reception is always a good thing.

Breakfast was good in sense that there was everything you expect from a hotel breakfast including really bad coffee but the worst thing was that it was really overcrowded most of the mornings. The breakfast room is a bit too small and it takes some effort to get yourself a table. This also lead to some of the items running out as there was only one staff person to clean and refill everything.

By far the worst thing about this hotel was the noise level. You could hear everything from the hallway and from near by rooms including TV and normal talking. Even the seagulls outside. These noises woke us up every morning way too early and we couldn't get any sleep after that. Hotels are mainly for sleeping and when you can't really do that, it's not much of an hotel then. Our friends had a room in second floor and they were kept up by the noises of a near by bar and the drunken people from there. Our room was on fourth floor.

The room itself was old as our friends had recently renovated room. The water pressure is really low in the shower and the shower handle didn't hold up and slide always down. This was just an annoyance and didn't cause any real problems. Try to make sure you get a renovated room when booking.

Staff wasn't that friendly at all. We stayed at the hotel with friends and we all shared the feeling that the staff was sometimes even a bit rude. IT was a pain to ask anything from the reception and the staff didn't offer help proactively.

We didn't expect much when booking this hotel but since we didn't get a decent sleep in this, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Try to make sure you get a renovated room as some rooms are and some are not renovated. Trust me, it...

Me and my girlfriend spent a night at Malaposta hotel and overall we were quite pleased. Room was nice and clean and everything worked well, just would've liked a nicer receptionist, she was rather cold and robotic and didn't really cared if we were there or not, both checking in and out. However we enjoyed our brief stay.

The hotel doesn't look pretty on the outside, it's the inside which counts. It's recently refurbished and looks modern and clean. Rooms are comfortable, tidy and also very clean! Staff is friendly and helpfull and speak propper english. Breakfast is basic but good, enjoyed it every morning! Location is key, less than 5 minute walk to the center, waterside and other sights. Great value for money!!!

Room Tip: first floor, street side can be noisy. We were moved from 101 (streetside, 1st floor next to elevato...

I´ve stayed with some friends in this hotel for 6 nights.
In the beggining i had some problems to sleep because of the noise of the closest kizomba bar, but the bed is confortable so.
The location is perfect, the best places are around 10/15 minutes walking, in less than a day we may see a lot of the best monuments, like Livraria Lello or Torre dos Clérigos.
Breakfast is so so.
Receptionists are kind and communicative.

We stayed here for 3 nights during the week and had an undisturbed sleep every night. The room had a balcony with 2 chairs and a table. The location is good, a 10 minute walk from the main square and the tourist buses. It was a great bonus having free wifi in the room. An unexpected pleasure was having the linen changed every day. The room and en-suite were very clean. The breakfast provided a good choice although the room is rather small. The staff are friendly, helpful and speak English. There is 24 hour reception and a lift. All this for 46 euro a night including breakfast .Why stay anywhere else ?

Room Tip: Our room was top floor at the front which gave a great view over the rooftops.

I spent a week with my mum in Feb. There's air con to keep you warm or cool you off. Free wifi.
The staff are friendly and helpfull. It's a laid back place. Rooms are a good size. And no issues with the room or cleaning.
It's in a good location. Close to everything.

The only problem is when it comes to the weekend Friday - Sunday, you can hear loud music all night. I believe there are two nightclubs further down the road, hence the noise. But during the week its quiet.

Very central, with free wi-fi, budget hotel, the A/C smelled very old when working.
pay attention on the day you are staying, if you like to sleep, better to chose a higher floor, during the weekends is very noisy

Room Tip: nice for a few hours of sleep and in the heart of the town (lots of bars around)
