This was my first time in Porto so cannot claim that this is the "best" hotel in Porto but it I had a wonderful experience at this hotel.
Portugal is generally quite affordable when compared to other destinations and so is this Sheraton property. Although I have paid using airline points for my stay, I had to use a very small amount of points and cash rates were fairly low as well.
This Sheraron appears to be fairly new. It is very modern and classy. I was upgraded to a club floor. The room was large, and again very modern. The bed was very comfortable. Bathroom looked great and everything was in working order. A nice touch - i received a complimentary bottle of port wine during my very short stay (I would have stayed several nights in a room like this one).
Staff throughout the hotels are very friendly, speaking many languages (I interacted with staff in both English and French).
The only thing that some may see as a drawback is that the hotel is not in the "historic" more touristy part of town. It is walking distance to the metro system (about 5-10 minutes in a straight line - but you have to know where you are going!) The same metro line also provided quick access to the airport. The area appeared relatively safeMore
