The hostel is located in a perfect place to visit the cool places in Porto, in the middle of historical places and at the same time 5-10 min walk from the best place to go out in the evening: Galerias and Piolho areas.
Ask the staff for tips on where to go, they know it all. They can tell all the little hidden places of Porto with nice ambients and good vibes.
Fur sure will be back!

Excellent location, great views, everything was very clean and tidy, and the staff was always helpful. Walking distance to the train station, subway and awesome downtown for late night drinks. The river is just around the corner and there are restaurants, coffee shops and supermarkets everywhere. I highly recommend it...

Hostel in very good location with reasonable prize. The double room we took was very avarage, not too cozy. The corridor is a little bit too dark and the breakfast is extremly simple: toast+jam. The staff was nice and helpful. Recommended for undemanding travelers.

The hostel is located in a very central street. Almost everything is within a walking distance.
Rooms, facilities and breakfast are simply but ok.
The staff was friendly and really helpful, if you need anything or want to know something about the city, ask them.
If you want to go on a budget trip to Porto, we definitely can recommend Porto Alive Hostel.

Hostel was ok, location was pretty good and staff seems nice. The problem is that you almost can't talk after 23 because they have "quiet hours". It's not a good idea if you arrived with group of friends, because they don't have real common room. It's just cauch and tv almost in the kitchen. Very bad idea when the weather is bad.I don't really like dorm, it was really cramped and not comfortable. For breakfast we got only some toasted bread with jam and cold coffee. I will give 4/10.

Hello!
Thanks for the feedback.
The quiet hour it's important to have some respect with the others guests. The guest who want party go out and the guest who want rest, stay in hostel to sleep. It's not fair for this ones if you are partying in hostel all night.
About the breakfast, you have milk, tea, coffee (and the microave to be hot), bread, butter, marmelade, chocolate for milk,...
Have a nice day! ;)

This is an ok hostel for a good price. Lovely view from the double-room we got in the third floor, definitely worth the money. Good location and obliging staff. It was a bit cold at night without heating in the room, when we were there in February.

Let me start by saying I only spent one night here, altogether only a total of about 6 hrs. When I checked in, there were two people ahead of me and only one person working at the counter. Unfortunately, the two people ahead of me each had in depth questions about the city and the girl took plenty of time answering their questions, great for them, bad for me when I had to wait 1/2 hour only to be told I couldn't check in yet...My bag was pretty heavy though so I was grateful that they put my bag behind the counter instead of in the luggage room so that I didn't have to lug it up two flights of stairs later that night. I had a private room but it was on the first floor so it seemed like the most commonly used bathroom. Maybe it was just my timing but it was pretty dirty when I went in. I left the hostal around 4 in the morning so I can't really say how crowded the bathrooms were...The location was fairly close to Sao Bento train station so I'd give it another chance if I ever return to Porto.
