If you're into music in anyway, stop by! Lots of Portuguese made guitars, ukes, mandolins, fados, etc. The staff are really friendly, will help you get your head around some of the strange tunings or blow your mind with a little demo. I bought a really nice uke and the Mrs was happy because they also sell handmade jewellery.

Owners of this beautiful shop are so kind and hospital. And they are amazingly shy people and never will speak with your first. I strongly recommend to talk with them! They will tell many stories about instruments. Thank you dear owners for being so kind to me, I felt in love with Portugal and especially Porto.

We were not many people but it was during the week. We enjoyed 1h of concert with a porto break. Good guitarists and singer. Broad choice of guitars.

We went to Casa da Guitarra to listen to Fardo music while in Porto. The music was brilliant, the venue was small and intimate. Not like the restaurant venues where you get given mediocre food and listen to music while you eat. This specialist centre sells spanish stringed instruments and is run by musicians. So the musical performance was of a very high quality and only cost 5 Euros per head with a glass of port thrown in. It also ran for an hour even though the show was only scheduled to run for 40 imuntes. Very good value on all levels.

In Casa da Guitarra, anyone can find a friendly spot to ear music, play a guitar, ukelele, mandolim or other else instrument and see free quality concerts, almost every saturday. High quality hand-made instruments! Very well placed, near all touristic spots, like Sé Catedral, Ponte Luiz I and S.Bento Railway station. A must see store!!!
