Trança de maçã means "apple braids/plaits" - it is a delicious Portuguese pastry filled with apple and pecan and in Bico Doce they know how to make it perfect. I always visit them (on scenic Rua Santa Caterina, a must for any visitor) for the tranças, but all of the other sweets I've tried there taste delicious and fresh. Vasco (the owner) and his team are real masters in what they do - very nice and friendly too. It is a pleasure to sit both inside or outside, to have a breakfast, a soup at midday or a 5 o'clock tea at Bico Doce.
