“Excellent stay - my favorite budget friendly place to stay in Oporto”
Reviewed 11 November 2011

The hotel is a bit out of the old center of Porto, takes about 15minutes walk. Nevertheless, rooms are nice, recently refurbished - there is free internet in the rooms (wireless) - warm welcome with fresh fruits and water in the room - besides minibar, a nice spaceous bathroom and flatscreen tv, working area... Stayed twice in this hotel in 2 months time and will return for sure. Both ideal for business meetings (meeting rooms available) and tourists... Breakfast is nice and lots of choice. And all this for a rate of 65-85 EUR per night... spaceous parking in case you travel by car (ring the bell of the gate (2 door wooden doors giving access to parking spaces on the side and below the hotel)

Room Tip: ask for NON-connecting rooms - rooms with connection doors might be a bit more noisy depending on th...

I booked a room for one night before taking a plane after having heard of this hotel in various magazines. If you get luck, you can get a room for less than $90.
I really loved the outside architecture of the hotel and how an ancient building had been restored to welcome a boutique hotel.
The staff at reception is welcoming and warm.
But I regret how the room looked like a regular business hotel one. The room was incredibly tiny and did not reflect the hotel ambitions. The room service is quite fast but prices are 150% higher than what you can find down the street.
A charming adress but not a romantic one I would say.

I booked 3 rooms in this hotel for a party running the Porto Marathon in November 2011. For runners the Hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the race start, and about 15 minutes walk from the drop off point for buses returning runners from the finish. The hotel is clean, smart, modern and stylish. Not luxurious but very comfortable. Large and comfortable beds, quiet and pleasant outlook from the rooms. Good sized bathrooms and powerful showers. Everything worked. The bus to the airport goes past the front door. Well located for buses or walking to the city centre, not ideally placed for the metro. Breakfast was excellent and staff were polite and helpful. Free internet acess in the lobby and wi-fi throughout. I would not hesitate to use this again or recommend it to friends

The rooms are exactly as shown in the photos - clean, comfortable. The staff were excellent - knowledgeable and very helpful. We had an early flight from Porto, had to leave hotel at 5.00am. wake up call, etc and we had no problems at all. Highly recommend.

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice and chic this hotel is. There is a nice area off of the lobby to read or get some fresh air. The hotel is very clean although there was a bit of a grease or solvent smell in the hallway (our room was adjacent to the elevator) which was a bit strange. The room was spacious and very well appointed. The location of the hotel is very good and within walking distance of many sites. The front desk was very friendly and helpful unlike some of the other hotels that we stayed at on our trip.

The hotel's lobby is simple but beautiful, the reception clerks are all very friendly and professional. All of them were really helpful during my 3 night stay.

The bathroom is classy and the rooms are not overdecorated but really pleasant. The towels and bed linen provided are of real high quality, 5 stars standard.

The breakfast is definetely the plus of the hotel. I've stayed in four diferent 4 stars around Portugal and Eurostars das Artes had the greatest breakfast I had during my visit. 12 (twelve!!!) diferent kinds of fruit each morning, 5 or 6 kinds of real fruit juice. A plenty variety of breads, cheese (6 kinds!), ham, jamon. Also there was a lot of hot options.

A recent review said the breakfast is a little cantina style and I was wondering that this opinion must be based on the lack of service on tables during breakfast and I wouldn't expect nothing diferent from a 4 stars hotel. The food provided is of extremely high quality and there's no other place near the hotel where you can have such great variety.

The only small downside is the seven steps to reach the reception from the street level as I didn't see any doorman or bell boy.

Room Tip: The rooms located in the anex building are bigger and maybe more silent but I didn't have any pr...

We stayed in Eurostar Des Artes for 4 nights during the peak season.
Overall the feeling is about a good level of service, good value for money, cleaness and professionalism.
A bit noisy the room on the main street, but spaceful: no view at all, so could be better to apply and ask for an inner one.
Decent and fresh breakfast. It's 20min on walk from the city centre, or a 5€ taxi ride.
