I learned a lot during my stay in the Surf School of Surfivor in Porto. Bruno was a great coach with lots of patience and passion for surfing. I will definitely recommand the school to my friends in Amsterdam! Obrigado!

The place is new, and immaculately clean. The staff are friendly and the surf instructors literally professionals. Bruno had me up on some waves within a couple hours in matosinhos. Did I mention it's in Porto?!?!

This was my first time at Surfivor. I went in early season so it was quiet, which I wanted. The hostel was perfectly nice, and we were lucky with the weather.

The best thing about the holiday was the instructor Bruno - he's an awesome surfer and an even better instructor. We always found the good waves and rode some nice greens. Top lad.

Soraya was really helpful with all my booking as well. Super friendly when we went down to surf in Esmoriz too.

All in all a great holiday :)

We visited the Surfivor Porto Hostel in April 2014. The weather was largely stormy and unpleasant but the quality of the instruction and the experience as a whole more than made up for that. The hostel itself is housed in a nice old building on a coastal road and the local beach is only a 5 minute drive away. We were able to get plenty of practice in on the reliable sandy breaks and we particularly appreciated the professional, structured, but always fun approach to lessons. There are supermarkets within walking distance and plenty of cafes/restaurants to satisfy your hunger after a hard day in the surf. Although there wasn't any yoga on offer, having the city of Porto on your doorstep does kind of make up for that. The single caveat is that the house can be a bit chilly on the rare occasions when the weather is very bad. All in all though, a wonderful trip and highly recommended.
