“Simply the best”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

My wife and I had a wonderful night at this charming restaurant. The food was nothing short of superb. The staff were charming. The wine was excellent and went very well with the meals. I have been travelling for almost 6 months through Germany, Southern France and Northern Spain. The meal I had here stands out as the best of the trip and by a long way.

“Don't walk, run!”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

I cannot write enough good things about this restaurant.
My husband and I came here for dinner on our first of 2 nights in Porto, and I'm so glad we did. We usually always try different places, and this is the first time we ever came back to the same restaurant.
Not only is the food delicious...I'm still dreaming about the pica pau...but I love the kind owners and servers, the decor, the cutlery, the art....i could go on and on.
Even though we loved our meal, our biggest regret was that we couldn't return to try the mushrooms, and the squid and all the other delicious choices on the menu.
Things to try:
The shrimp in the little red pot...can't remember the name, but each of the shrimp come delicately flavoured with herbs and salt.
THE PICA PAU...honestly the most delicious thing...almost like a steak stew but oh so good.
For mains, we had the octopus....cooked perfectly and not at all fishy tasting...bravo to the chef; we had the veal.....my husband declared it to be the BEST he's ever had, and also the pork flavoured with cumin....so inventive.
And our meals for 2 people (appetizers, mains, desert, wine) came in around the 40 euro mark.
This restaurant is a short walk away from the main tourist area, but like i said, run, don't walk here!
It should be rated as the top restaurant in Porto.
And it works for singles, couples, small groups, large groups, families...you name it, they'll serve you up delicious food!

“Disapointing”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

Usually we don't mind waiting some longer when restaurants are bussy. But waiting 2 hours for our order was inacceptable! Total chaos from kitchen to table. The peronel was friendly enough and excused itsself manytimes but a restaurant should be equiped/staffed to cather at full house. The food itself was mediocre and not worth the extreme waiting time.

“Delicious and original”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

We lived in the hotel in front of this resto and went there our last day in Porto. and it was really great! The menu is reach, we even didn't tried the main dish, limited ourselves by "entrée" and deserts. All dishes were made with attention to details, with plenty of different tastes. Plus - I liked a lot the style of this resto.

“Still Needs Quite a Bit of Work”
Reviewed 22 July 2014 via mobile

This restaurant has potential but still needs quite a bit of work. They are understaffed and definitely disorganized. Food was ok but portions as advertised for 2 people were not even enough for 1. We ordered a sea food and rice dish which unfortunately was 90 % rice with only 2 shrimps and was a portion only for 1 person even though it was marked as for 2 to share. Appetizers including stuffed mushrooms were very good. Definitely not the 5 star rating that others have given it.
