We stayed in this apartment for a few days during our trip to Porto. It was a great location, with a fantastic view of the Douro River. The accommodations were very comfortable, and the location was easy walking distance to everything. The 500 bus stops just outside the apartment about a block away, so getting to / from the beach was easy. The supermarket was just a few blocks away, and that was also convenient for shopping. Finally, we had a great view of the port caves. Awesome way to spend the day!!!!! We visited three of them!.
Christina was a great hostess, and saw to all our needs. This is an excellent place to stay!
The location is perfect for easy access to Ribeira district and only a 15min walk to historic centre. Located right by the river Douro, so flat walking along riverbank with georgeous views right on your doorstep. The apartment is exactly as described online.
Local restaurants, public transport and grocery store all within 100m.
Cristina, the owner, was fantastic - so helpful and thoughtful.
We loved Porto and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Thanks to Cristina and her lovely apartment we were able to get the most out of a short stay in Porto. The location is ideal, with great views but also easy access to all the best things to do in the city. The apartment itself is bright, clean, stylish and lavishly equipped. The upstairs bedroom suite has a luxurious, indulgent feel to it.
The restaurant beneath the apartment was fine and others a short walk away were too.
Cristina gave us fantastic advice on things to do, places to visit, where to eat, how to get around and so on - she could not have been more helpful.
We had a fabulous weekend to round off our holiday in northern Portugal.
We had unfortunate misunderstanding re: room rate. Cristina asked for more $$ in cash. We spent too much time waiting for buses. We liked Porto
A stunning apartment right by the druoro river. The apartment is about 20 mins walk from city centre, and there are plenty of buses and frames into the city also from right outside.
There is a supermarket and a couple of really nice restaurants near the apartment.
Only negative was our room was not ready till about 6pm, however I would still fully recommend this place.
We enjoyed a fabulous short break with friends. The apartment is super comfortable with all mod cons, the most wonderful views of the river Douro and in the evening some spectacular sunsets. Christina met us at the airport providing helpful tips and tourist guidance with great passion for Porto and the locale. There is a good supermarket in proximity. Beneath the apartment is a delightful family restaurant with delicious grilled fish a speciality and also an interesting bar with regional ales. The people on this river frontage were so friendly we often preferred to relax here than go elsewhere after a busy day. Christina was available for any support or travel arrangements. Thanks for a great stay.
Pleasant flat 20 minute walk from the apartment to the UNESCO world heritage Porto Ribeira by the famous Ponte Luis 1 iron bridge. A similar distance (but possibly a bit longer because it's uphill!) to the cathedral or Clerigos tower. The apartment is 2 or 3 minutes walk to bus stops where you can take various tourist buses, as well as "normal" ones (Cristina, the very helpful and friendly owner of the apartment) will give you lots of information as to the best things to do, including which buses to take. And, less than 5 minutes walk, just past the bus stops (and the Porto tram museum) is a well-stocked supermarket (although sadly no craft ales!). Next door to the apartment is an excellent small restaurant - it has a limited menu, but the fish is wonderfully fresh (simply grilled on a barbecue when the weather is good), and the jugs of vinho verde a very good accompaniment. We ate there every night because it was so good, cheap and convenient (leave some room for the home-made desserts - all of €2.50 each!).
Apartment is very well equipped (but do be aware, it's 2 quite long flights of stairs up with no lift). It's on two floors, and the top bedroom, which doubles as the living room with the TV, has a nice little balcony overlooking the Ponte d'Arrábida (a modern bridge closest to the sea of Porto's 6 bridges).
