“Close to center and metro, but hostel standard.”
Reviewed 15 November 2013

We booked the hotel "les colonies" right beside the siru hotel. At the checkin we were told that they changed our booking to siru. Without any explanation. My room was not much bigger than the bed and i was very happy that i was too busy to spend much time inside. We booked breakfast and where told at the checkin that we didn't book it (which was simlpy not true), but they are kind and we'll receive a voucher for breakfast . 110€ per night was much too expensive. A disappointing experience.

Positive thing first, location wise this hotel was very well situated right next to the Gare-du-nord train station and so very easy to reach.

Everything else was quite disappointing.
The room I got was very old and it is really time to renovate and refurbish (and replace the ugly pink colors). The rooms are very noisy and the windows not isolated so having a room facing the square right outside and being on the first floor meant a lot of noise.

The breakfast was very basic and was served in the adjoined hotel (which is much nicer at least).

In general a dark and cold look and feel, as I travel to Brussels often I wouldn't stay at the Siru.

Room Tip: Try and get a room facing away from Place Rogier

Dear uri_fi,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us in Tripadvisor.

We are delighted to hear that our location met your expectations. We recommend you requesting a room facing the courtyard for you to enjoy a quieter atmosphere. We hope that during your next visit you will take the opportunity to try our new American breakfast buffet. Every morning we are now offering a wide selection ranging from fresh fruits and yoghurts, over fresh baked pastries, spreads and cheeses to warm dishes such as eggs and bacon.

We hope to welcome you again soon for business or leisure!

I wanted a hotel not too far from the North station.
Wrongly thinking that the Sheraton or Thon hotel would be too expensive, I opted for this one.

I did not sleep a wink. At first I thought the window had not been closed properly but no, it was well shut. Passing cars, screaming people... if you are a light sleeper, I highly advise that you avoid going to this hotel. Needless to say I woke up feeling groggy.

Service was minimal and slow. Luckily it was just for one night.

Apparently renovated hotel with colorful room equipment. But actually it is a very noisy hotel (windows not well isolated, bathroom window not isolated at all). I had to pay on arrival which it is not a good sign and should be indicated in the reservation. But what really annoyed me was that I was asked to pay in a rude way. Impossible to feel welcomed after that!

Room Tip: Two nights here is more tan enough. Choose another hotel.

I booked this hotel for a three night stay with a group of friends. I had a twin room and opted out of breakfast.
The room itself was a little basic in terms of décor and provisions but it came with everything you would expect for a hotel in this day an age. The most important thing for me was that it was clean.
The hotel itself will not blow you away with its design or architecture. What you can expect however, and the biggest plus for me was a great location. The hotel is about one minute walk into the main pedestrianized shopping area and probably 10 minutes walk to the old town and all the sights people go to Brussels to see. From this hotel I think most places a tourist is likely to visit, are all within a short walk. The only staff at the hotel I encountered were reception and house keeping staff, and I can fault neither. All the staff were polite, house keeping cleaned the room daily and the reception staff were more than happy to help you with directions and questions.
Wifi worked in the reception but I didn't go there to experience the internet speeds.
I literally slept and showered at this hotel, spending the rest of my time in the city itself enjoying the food, drink and sights. If you are likely to spend prolonged periods of time in your room, I would suggest this is possibly not the hotel for you.
I'm not sure the official rating for this hotel but I would put it at 3 star. However its location gets it an extra point for the Trip Advisor rating.

The hotel is nice and enough good for its category. The only negative comment is related to the cost, quite expensive in comparison to other cities.
The services are quite ok and it is clean. The receptionists are helpful and polite.

Very centrally located, next to the metro Rogier 15 min from the Grand Place. Rather impersonal.
The rooms are clean but very small, so the tiny bathroom, the bed very comfortable, staff barely polite, small lift superslow.
There is no bar in the hotel, frigobar in the room is empty.
Efficient central heating and good wi-fi in the rooms

Dear diporzio,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

We are glad to read that you enjoyed our central location as well as the cleanliness and comfort of our rooms.

We dearly invite you to take a look at our highest room category, the Privilege Rooms. Built in the tower of our hotel, these rooms are not only more spacious in size but have bigger working desks as well. Moreover, we have a Recreational Room in Hotel Siru offering a comfortable seating area and vending machines equipped with different drinks and snacks.

We are looking forward to welcoming you back on your next business trip.
