Clean Hotel quite centraly located. Breakfast is great, many choices. Wifi quite slow. The stuff ist very friendly and gives many advice. Free water in the room and very comfortable beds. Unfortunately only Air condition and no possibility to open the windows.

I flew in from NY to Brussels and my husband drove in from and hour away to meet me. We decided to spend the night in Brussels before the journey home to family. We settled on the Bloom hotel due to price and reviews. We were not disappointed. The rooms are large and comfortable. Reception was quite busy but still took time to converse both in Flemish to my husband and English to me. She was very nice and welcoming. I was excite to see what artwork our room had in store as the rooms are all different. We had a wonderful painting of mushrooms. What's particularily nice is that they have carefully hung mirrors at just the right angles to reflect the artwork onto other mirrors so you can enjoy it from various vantages in the room. This took some thought, talent and planning - nice. The hotel lobby offers a small quick shop for a snack or drink. Also a nice lounge where we enjoyed a nice glass of wine at an affordable price - we were allowed to take the glasses and finish in our rooms which was welcome after a long day of traveling. Breakfast is great - large buffet style selection. Fresh juices, flavor infused water, meats, cheeses, yogurts, cereal, and a great waffel bar housed in a VW Van - too cute.

The hotel is also in a very nice area - we were there on a Sat/Sun so, street traffic was minimal and it was a nice relaxing walk to the palace and park. On Sun we ventured a few blocks to St Micheals and St. Gudala's Cathedral. We enjoyed a Mass but, even if you are not Catholic this is not to be missed. fabulous artwork. Mass included music from a lone celloist and a singer with a beautiful operatic voice - again even if your not Catholic this would be very enjoyable.

Location is OK but about 10 minutes uphill walk from Rogier. Pleasant walk through the Botanique grounds but this is closed at night so you need to walk up by the main road. The rooms are large and spacious but there is only the one comfortable chair plus a wooden desk chair. This is OK for the single traveller but not for a couple. The funky chair with the footstool isn't very comfortable, a victory of style over comfort. Bed was very comfortable and there were extra pillows. Aircon works well and the main windows do open a little for fresh air. The orange bathroom sinks are again more stylish than functional as (a) you can't close the plughole to wash and (b) it doesn't drain very well, especially if you wash a mug out. The bath / shower needed maintenance as the bath is quite marked and the shower hose was split. The fridge and free water is welcome. The TV with internet is a bit hard to use but does what it should do. Hotel information is a bit sparse, hard to find much on the TV hotel guide and very little literature. The plugs are 3 pin rather than the usual continental 2 pin so my usual adapter wouldn't work. Free wifi is a plus point. Breakfast has its good and bad points. Fresh fruit, fresh orange juice, bread and scrambled eggs were good. The bacon wasn't very appetising and the other hot food not very appealing. The coffee was good but the mugs are cold so it went cold quickly. The waffle van is self service and it takes a good while to make one so best tried if not in a rush. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would stay again but I would hope that the hot breakfast items improve in quality. It is certainly a different type of hotel but they need to back up the concept with better standards.

Room Tip: You can choose your room online and pick the one with decor that you prefer.

Good location; modern, big and well designed rooms, lots of facilities in the hotel such as airhockey table, fresh free water in the rooms. Big Breakfast Buffet with fresh waffles. Parking under the hotel has small lots and is expensive.

I stayed at Hotel Bloom while I was in Brussels on EU business. The hotel is comfortable and clean. The rooms, which are designed by young European artists, are very-well decorated. If you like your morning sleep like I do, the coffee machines in each room is very useful before you rush to your meeting.

Some additional comments:
1. Do not stay on the 8th floor, though as it has a lot of noise from the AC units on the roof.
2. The room rates are almost doubled when there are meetings at the EC, so it would be a good idea to book in advance.
3. There is Metro Station (Botanique) just around the corner. However, there is a shortcut to the hotel from Pl. Rogier which makes it easier to reach the city centre without changing trains.
4. Gare du Nord is 10 minutes walk. However, you'll have to walk through the red light district unless you take the metro (First to Pl. Rogier then to Botanique).
5. There is a Carrefour Express just opposite the hotel. This is helpful if don't want to pay 15 euros for the breakfast.
