“Great hotel for a trip to Brussels”
Reviewed 1 September 2014

A perfect hotel for a business trip to Brussels. It is easy to reach by public transport, having Metro connection via Botanique station or a tram stop nearby. The hotel is also not too far away from Place Rogier or Brussels North Railway Station. The rooms are comfortable, provide sufficient space and the required amenities. Also each room is decorated by an individial piece of painted art. The bathrooms of the standard rooms are somehow basic, but clean and of acceptable size. The breakfast offer is a clear recommendation, especially in comparison to other hotels in Brussels. And there is free WiFi available. The only downside so far is the main road in front of the hotel, as in the rooms sited there you will hear some road noise.

We simply loved this hotel. We stayed here during the Tomorrowland weekend and it was themed accordingly. It is very modern and clean. The mural in our room was lovely and this concept gives a unique characteristic to each and every room. The hotel is situated in a very quiet area, however there is not much to do around. We walked towards the basilica and the area is very shabby and not very welcoming during the night. The breakfast was a buffet-continental type and it was varied and delicious. Despite being the Tomorrowland weekend, it was not noisy at all. A couple of security officers stayed in the lobby but were very helpful and polite. We felt quite safe. The receptionists were helpful and we liked the idea that we were given a snack upon returning from the concert each and every night. I can say that we were treated very well at this hotel!

Modern style, competitive price for accommodation. Easy access by Metro Kruidtuin, possible to walk from Brussel-Nord (up hill 10 mins)..BUT... breakfast too expensive, phone calls outrageously so, totally inadequate provision for self-catering, in any case restaurant closed in August. Few restaurants in the vicinity

I would vote Belgium and France as the two most unfriendly cities in Europe. The Hotel Bloom is in a good location, is well finished and has a couple of very helpful staff but most of the staff did not seem interested in the customers. The restaurant has to be one of the worst experiences we have ever had. The first day they did not have what I had ordered, then they did not deliver the right order and then the tuna was cold and from a tin. No offer was made to give us a free dessert or even a apology.

The next night we went into the restaurant for a drink. After 25 min. of no service I went to the bar and ordered the drinks. We were in the bar about 45 min. and not a single waiter/waitress came by our table.

This is not a cheap hotel. Parking and breakfast and taxes add $50 a day to the bill .

Next time I will use the NH hotel, it is in the same price range and we have had good service at other NH hotels

Room Tip: Go somewhere else.

1 night stay on august 27th
The lobby is just incredible, the staff is lovely, the rooms are clean and nicely decorated (each room has its own fresco painted by an artist, love the idea!)
The rooms are well maintained, and well soundproofed (even though I had a room just in front the elevator!) and bedding is quite comfortable. By the way the air conditionning is quiet too !

For the geeks like me out there, there is a nice TV set, with a very rich multimedia interface with Internet/Youtube/Facebook/Twitter and more directly available directly on TV! I really enjoyed.
I really recommend the breakfast buffet (even if you think it is expensive, read on, it is NOT !), because you will find almost ANYTHING you would ever have for a breakfast (I traveled a lot, and this is one counts for the rare to have that much choice).
Before a daylong walk in Brussels, you will definitely enjoy to have your stomach filled for the morning !

The hotel's restaurant, at the time of my visit, only offers a limited amount of dishes (Salads or pastas), but you can order your choose and customize your dish, and the food was very good !
So, simple, but effective and tasty !

For the next couple of weeks (probably until september 15th), because of work in progress on the main street, you could have a bit of noise during the day, but they stop at around 6PM.

If you are coming by car, don't hesitate to use the hotel's parking. It's expensive, yes (27€ for 24h) but at least your car is safe, and no hassle with your bags and stuff, you can access directly to the hotel through the elevator !

Definitely recommend !

The main lobby is inviting and stylish with a large eating area for breakfast. There is even a mini bar in the lobby where one can buy drinks and sandwiches 24/7. The staff is friendly and can advice on the area. Next door is a park, which is frequented by the locals. We had some construction outside, but it didn't effect our sleeping. The rooms are slightly smaller than average, but adequate and the price was right at around 100 Euros.

The hotel is located perfectly near a metro station (Botanique) and 15 mins walk from the Grand Place. The rooms were spacious and modern and clean, the bathroom also was really clean with interesting design. Although there were engineering works on the main street outside the hotel, the rooms were on the other side and were very quiet and peaceful, we couldn't hear anything and that was great for our sleep.
The wi-fi speed in the room was really good. There is also a room with pool and 4 desktop computers on the floor below the lobby.
We stayed there for 2 nights several days apart and definitely recommend this hotel.
The overall price was excellent for what you get.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the upper floors 5 or 6, they seem to be quieter and have good view over the surro...
