it's clear that details are well looked after, that rooms are original and that they have an eye for design. Price is also OK

My partner and I stayed at Hotel Bloom over a very hot weekend in June. We were impressed with the room (very large and well-appointed, nice to have an ipod hookup for the TV's sound system) and appreciated the air conditioning! On the first morning, our A/C unit developed a leak, which was fixed promptly while we were out during the day. We were on the top floor, so street noise wasn't a problem. The bathrooms clearly haven't been renovated as recently as the rooms themselves, but ours was perfectly functional and clean.

Hotel is decently located, very close to the Botanique Metro stop. If you choose to walk, there is a somewhat bleak neighbourhood of office buildings to get through before you arrive in the touristy part of town. There is a small supermarket across the street, but if you are there on the weekend, be aware that it closes at 1pm on Saturday!

Staff were very friendly and multi-lingual. We were unable to borrow a corkscrew from the desk, if you want to bring your own wine, bring a corkscrew or take your bottle to the bar where they will open it for you. Free wifi was consistent and fairly fast - slow for watching videos or uploading large files, but great for everyday use. Fitness centre is on the top floor, was largely deserted with lots of new equipment.

A great hotel. Rooms are a good size, the bed was comfy. I would certainly recommend it to friends.
The hotel is about a 20-30mins walk from the old town and the main tourist sights.
It's good for business, good for a city break, cheap enough for solo travellers.

Really not as nice as we expected. The room had dirty walls and the wallpaper was coming off in some areas in the bathroom.

Spontaneously decided to spend a night at the Bloom Hotel after a friend recommended it to me. Got my room immediately. Very nice room, clean, friendly, cosy, with all service for only 59 Euro (+ town tax of +/- 6 Euro). Did not have breakfast or visit the bar this time.
Bad surprise: made a phone call to a local mobile nummer - for half an hour, the cost was higher than the night at the hotel ... My advice: stay at the hotel, but do not use the phone !!!

The hotel is positioned about a twenty minute walk from the grand place. The rooms were well appointed and spotlessly clean. Any request we had from the front desk was dealt with swiftly, even when we asked to change rooms because my girlfriend didn't like the mural on the wall!

Overall the hotel represents a good value place to stay in Brussels, the metro stop is just across the road, but Brussels is a fairly small city and all the sites are easily walkable. Although having breakfast in the hotel is very convenient, €25 pp might be better spent in a cafe overlooking the grand place.

In short: extremely fair-priced, very roomy, comfortable and nicely designed rooms, friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast but a bit off center and rather noisy. I would recommend it for leisure mostly and for people who can stand a bit of noise.

ROOMS: certainly the best asset of this hotel, the rooms are large, comfortable and cosy, with free wifi and air con and absolutely spotless. Their design is rather nice and discret (though more reminiscent of the 70's than really contemporary). it is worth asking for a view if you care about it, for most of the rooms face the street or very close buildings. It is rather noisy at night, at least during the week-end, since a lot of customers seem to be young people in packs and since the rooms are not sound-proofed at all.

LOCATION: not as good as they want you to believe (a good 15 minutes walk from the city centre) but next to the Botanical Garden, which is really nice, and 10min from the North Station. The rooms facing Rue Royale get a lot of noise from the street.

FOOD: I only tried the breafast, which was really great, a fest of fresh fruits, feshly squashed juice, waffles, many kinds of breads and the usual meat and eggs. Really worth the fare, and served until 10 (10.30 on Sundays).

STAFF: the staff was really nice and helpful, they even got us our rooms early (9am instead of 2pm without any charge!) and gave us useful advice.

PRICE: the prices are extremely fair, considering the size and comfort of the rooms and its decent location. My wild guess would be that it is probably the best in town for its price range and an excellent choice if you do not want to stay in the center at any cost and can stand a little noise.
