“Pleasant Hotel”
Reviewed 3 September 2012 via mobile

I stayed here with my daughter 31st August for 2 nights. Got a really good deal through Late Rooms for a king-size bed with a sofa bed. We were on the 6th floor and the room had no view; only a solid wall immediately in front of the window but the room itself was very nice.

There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room but for some reason the hotel only provided two very small cartons of cream (which was horrible in tea!) but there is a supermarket very nearby in the shopping centre across the road where you can get milk which you can then keep in the fridge in the room.

On the downside, we ate in the hotel on the first night which was very expensive (18 euros for a small lasagne). There are no menus, instead you are given an iPad on which to place your orders (novel). The meal was nice but certainly overpriced for what it was. We ate breakfast at the Exki cafeteria a few minutes walk away towards the centre of town which was great value; croissant and coffee 1 euro each before 11am However this was not open on Sunday so we found another place further in towards the centre of town.

The staff were friendly and helpful and there is a stop for one of the "hop on, hop off" bus tours 2 minutes from the hotel as well as a tram and metro station near the shopping centre from which you can travel to the Grande Place.

Overall, a very nice stay but my advice would be to eat out.

We booked this place not knowing Brussels at all. We were attending the beer festival which was great and well worth a visit.

The hotel is well located about 10 mins or so from the centre and handy for the shops. The shopping centre reminded me of Birkenhead (not good) with the selection of the usual shops etc but of course that isn't the hotels fault!

The breakfast was pretty good and I liked the fact there were good sized glasses next to the orange. It really irritates me when some other hotels put very small glasses there so you don't drink so much!

There is free wifi which works so well done for making it simple. It is amazing how many other hotels try and make it difficult!

The rooms are good for the price although I would say not very modern. The twin room we had was pretty small illustrated by the lack of depth in the wardrobe. It is good value though and won't disappoint.

All in all a good place to stay.

Nice place to stay in brussels(Room 242, 18 & 19 August). Around 12 minutes from Eurostar train station by Tram 3 and 6. Well connected & new to all the major attraction.
The staff is very informative, polite & helpful. Room was big with nice bathroom. I was there around probably hottest month of the year so felt AC was not strong enough to cool up the big room.
Breakfast was very good but very expensive(19 euro). I would expect to have more variety of food rather different variety of jams and ketchups(cute bottles) :-).
Though we didn't use it but free spa and Gym is available at the hotel.

Overall it was a wonderful place to stay.

Five minute walk from gare du nord. Five minute walk to great breakfast place called Exki on Rue Nueve. ZDoes continental , various choices and lovely salad etc for lunch. Whole food, organic, freshly squeezed orange juice. Great find. However, do check for closure on Saints days. No notices put in window to warn you.... And everything shuts except Haagen Daz.
Ten minute walk to Grand Place.
Spacious bedrooms, corridors, bathrooms. Cannot fault it.
Service excellent and staff very friendly. I left some clothing and contacted them. It was with the concierge when I passed through Brussels the following day.

Room Tip: We booked two rooms, one overlooking Jardins du botanique. This room had coffee machine and you cou...

We got a great deal on the room and were surprised at how nice the hotel was. Some Crowne Plaza hotels are in the process of being converted and therefore not well appointed. We loved the location, it is only a few minutes walk to the shopping areas and to Grand Place. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable. There is no minibar but the WiFi is free and there is a small bar fridge in the room. Would stay here again, the cost and location were both great!

It's about what to expect from a Crown plaza. Nice hotel in a great location. just 10-15 walk to Grad place and great shopping on the way there. The hallways were a little musty and the bed was not very comfortable. I see this as more a business hotel. We got it for just over $100 USD for a non peak weeknight so it was a good value.

Dear Matt,
Thanks for your review and I am happy that your stay met your expectations!
I am surprised you felt that the bed was not comfortable as our rooms are equipped with superior bedding and linen being part of the Crowne Plaza Sleep Advantage Program which is normally well appreciated by our guests.
We do hope however that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back soon at our hotel.
With best regards,

We stayred in Crowne Plaza Hotel - Le Palace in April 2011. The location of the hotel is good in terms of city break holidays. The hotel is clean, well maintained and the stuffs are friendly. The buffet breakfast was good and there was a wide range of food on offer everyday. We stayted there for 2 nights and the room was clean and nicely decorated, specially bathroom was very clean. The sleep quality was very good. The location of the hotel is excellent, as one can walk to many tourist attractions within 10-15 mintues. La Grand Place is 15 minutes walking from hotel, the comic museum was only 10 minutes walking from the hotel. There is a metro train stop (Rojier) just outside the hotel, which makes it easy for the traveller to go around the city. Gare de Brussels – Nord rail station is just 10 minutes walking from the station, so one can take a train to airport from there or going other parts of Belguim. We used the train for our trip from and to airport, we also used Gare de Brussels – Nord station for our day trip to Brugge. Overall this is a good hotel for a nice city break kind of holiday. I will definately recomend this hotel for holiday makers.
