We stayed there for 5 nights on our honeymoon. The property is quite beautiful :) We had booked a room with private pool. The outdoor bathroom was perfect. The staff was amazing, catering to all our needs. The spa is just fantastic, it was a part of our honeymoon package along with a dinner. The staff also recommended and reserved tables for us at different hotels for dinner. The beach is well protected, clean and quiet, so you can just relax. Breakfast was included in our package, so when we didn't feel like going to the restaurant, they brought it to us in our room with all that we ordered. The staff is extremely friendly and polite. We went for snorkelling and elephant trek (again recommended by the staff - Amanda) It was a wonderful experience. Amanda was really helpful. At night we would borrow DVDs from the hotel library and watch in our room which was well equipped with surround sound system. Overall an excellent, memorable trip at a beautiful resort with friendly staff.

Stayed here for a week as part of our honeymoon and enjoyed every minute! Would definitely recommend a pool villa as it makes your stay even more special... Staff were amazing here, always smiling and stopping to great you every time you past by. The grounds of the resort were also well maintained and clean... The restaurant and pool is so nice and right on the beach.. Food is amazing! We had breakfast and lunch in our villa a couple times, which was also very nice. We did a cooking course here which was loads of fun!
The spa is lovely as well, we had a couples massage as part of our booking.. We had a few massages on the beach (found it cheaper than the resort and the ladies are lovely!)
You won't regret staying here, it's worth the money and made the start of our honeymoon so special!

We found Choeng Mon very quiet in the evenings, this could be because it is low season.. There is a few restaurants but if your looking for a late night drink, then get a taxi to Chaweng (300 baht) from resort. We went to a couple gorgeous restaurants, bars and the Moulin Rouge show :-)

We stayed there for 2 nights and had a villa with a private pool.
This resort is located just 15 minutes from the airport however this is far enough to be at peace from any noise.
The resort offers a spa, 2 swimming pools and a direct access to a beach which is well protected so no big waves.
Our villa was simply perfect with a great outdoor bathroom and a pool that is large enough to relax in full privacy.
Breakfast buffet was generous but more European than Thai in style.
We had lunch at the restaurant but no dinner there as the Bo Phut fisherman's village is just 300B away from taxi.
However don't risk any other option walking outside the resort for lunch/dinner as they do not seem to offer any better compromise.
Overall an excellent experience, with friendly staff all the way.

Where do I start?

We arrived around 9.30am in the morning. The staff were absolutely amazing, they gave me a bouquet of red roses in celebration of our anniversary and as room was not yet ready the put us up in one of their deluxe balcony rooms while we waited. Here we were able to shower and cool down until our room was ready.

We had booked a Sala Pool Villa Suite and we were no disappointed. More roses in the room and then came a bottle of bubbly, some nibbles and chocolates. We had found paradise. The out door bathroom had everything you need, including a remote fan to move around the hot air. The mini bar was fully stocked and the bed extremely comfortable. House keeping kept the room clean all the time and the turn down at night with the little treats was also goo.

All the staff at Sala are extremely helpful and polite. We had a slight misunderstanding over wine on our last night and it was rectified straight away ny Daniel the restaurant manager. He was very helpful and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine for the misunderstanding.

My husband and I did the Thai Cooking Course with Touch, who was delightful and very helpful.

The happy hours are good, and again the staff in the beach bar are fantasic.

If there was anything to fault and this is me being really pick is the breakfast. While there is an Al al Carte menu, the portions were probably not to western standards and the buffet did not have an extensive choice. As I said I am probably being extremely picky. The juice and smoothie bar is a good concept.

We ate a couple of times in the restaurant and found the food very enjoyable. There are other places to eat along the beach and in the main street if you don't want to dine in and they were good and pretty cheap. We ate a couple of times at "The Garland".

The spa is also excellent, I had two massages - 1 Thai the other hot stone and on both occassions the girls were brilliant. I of course also had more out side of the resort.

All in all Sala Samui is perfect for a romantic get away. Would recommend it - most definitely. Would we go back again - most definitely. We would still be there now but we had to come back to work.

Room Tip: Sala Pool Villa Suite is a must. We stayed in no 21 and it was really private and quiet.

This was our 3rd stay at the Sala, and we were not disappointed. From the moment we got picked up at the airport to the moment we went back to the airport, we were looked after impeccably. Our cases did not arrive on our flight, but the we didn't have to do a thing. The Sala arranged to collect the bags later on that day from the airport and delivered them to our room. All the reception staff were very helpful, arranging our transfers and a breakfast box as we had such an early flight going home.
The waiters & waitresses in the restaurant are lovely, really efficient.Daniel, the manager keeps an eye on everything that's going on and doesn't mind mucking in and helping out when needs be. The beach boys, what can you say !! Uhm, Boy and the rest of the lads are great. Every morning, they put towels on the sunbeds for us before breakfast. As soon as we settled for the day, they constantly brought round glasses of ice cold water, fresh fruit. They always came round at lunchtime to see if we wanted a table reserving, and letting us know it was Happy Hour !! Even on one day when the weather was very wet, Uhm organised our towels in the Massage Gazebo by the pool so that we could stay out, but not get wet !!
Can recommend this hotel to anyone, if you don't want the 'Full on' nightlife of Chaweng then this resort is a must. The little town of Choeng Mon has a selection of about 12 different restaurants plus a few drinking bars and the Sala is just on the edge of this resort town, so only a 3 minute walk away.
Had a fantastic time, and already looking forward to returning next year !!

Room Tip: Our personal choice is a balcony room, purely because we like to go down to the beach and relax by t...

I stayed at Sala Samui this summer with my boyfriend. Overall we had a fantastic experience and we were not disappointed. Choosing between all the resorts on Samui was tough, we were very satisfied at Sala.

We splurged for a Pool Villa and couldn't have been happier. They are located near the beach and restaurant, making the whole place feel small and quaint. The actual villa itself was perfect. I would highly recommended them.

The bar and restaurant were great. Breakfast was fantastic and the food at every meal was delicious. The beach was nice and quiet, which was perfect for a relaxing vacation. Really there was no reason to leave the resort, which became even truer when we ventured to Chawang one night--we didn't stay long.

Our package also included a couples massage, and the spa services were equally great. (Also, traveling as a gay couple, we never experienced any issue at Sala. I was surprised at how they never even asked to confirm that the couples massage should be in the same room.)

Overall the service was great. The staff booked a car for us twice to have dinner elsewhere on the island, and they booked a day trip to Anthong Marine Park at the last minute. Really our only complaint was some of the details with housekeeping. In one instance, they removed our used drink glasses in the villa and set them outside the door, presumably to pick them up later. They were still there (filled with rainwater) 24 hours later. Similarly, things like our banana peels were left on the table after housekeeping came. Otherwise I would highly recommend Sala to everyone visiting Samui!

We stayed at Sala Samui on a friend's recommendation and had an incredible vacation. The staff could not have done any more to make our stay more enjoyable. The girls at reception, the restaurant staff and the housekeeping staff - everything done with a smile that epitomises Koh Samui.

We stayed in a garden pool villa, which is slightly smaller in size than the Sala pool villa, but definitely worth it for the plunge pool. Loads of things to do on the island: an elephant ride, scuba diving and snorkeling as well as a great restaurant scene - the girls at reception were more than happy to organise everything for us. We'd definitely be back.
