Sorry to admit we have driven passed this restaurant on too many occasions and we now know that we have been missing out on a fab place to eat. Met friends last Saturday eve and started our evening in a lovely relaxed bar area. Met by lady who immediately ensured we got drinks, and menu, with very little fuss. Between us we chose pigeon, soufflé , duck, etc. wine choices were good and reasonable priced. Shown to our table in a lovely non echoing room where even though it was busy we could chat without difficulty. The starters and main meal were presented and cook to perfection. Deserts were scummy and we then moved to bar area to have coffee where a little surprise came along with our hot drinks. The rice pudding was a lovely different touch. We all said what a lovely evening and we certainly have been missing out by driving pass! The menu choices were varied and interesting. Already looking at the calendar to book our next experience at The Dove. Well done to everyone who made the evening great.

Although this restaurant is a little out of the way it is well worth a visit, it has a nice lounge to sit and have a pre dinner drink in.
The quality of food and service are excellent

We went for my birthday treat and had a really superb meal, felt really special. Not many people in, but still got the usual excellent service. The food was fantastic. Never had a bad meal there yet!!

A lovely welcome, very attentive service, lovely food. The Dove is a lovely boutique style restaurant with a very warm & friendly atmosphere.
We enjoyed Sunday lunch here, all 3 courses were excellent, as was the house red wine!

I was taken to the Dove for my birthday after we looked at the menus of all the other local restaurants and decide that the Dove was the most appealing. We did request the Arnold Bennett soufflé as it is a favourite of ours that Robert does so well. A twice baked individual soufflé on a bed of leeks with delicious smoked haddock in a cheese source. I followed that with the chicken breast with chirozo and creamy mashed potatoes, delicious. My partner had the Blythborough pork with sweet potatoes which she loved. That was followed with a brûlée which again Robert does so well and I had the Lemon torte which was perfect. This was all delightfully accompanied by the house Merlot which is always faultless. As ever, the welcome and service was warm and friendly in delightful surroundings. The Dove is a true gem always worth trying.
