I booked a room at Chameleon House at 10pm the night before I arrived, they waited up for me after I got lost. The room was large, very clean and homely, all the touches you would expect from a high end boutique hotel. The owner brought breakfast to the room every morning (continental or full-English). I also had the pleasure of eating at the restaurant, one of the best sirloin steaks I have had for a long time. The owners and staff were very welcoming, I couldn't have picked a better place to stay. I will be bringing my family next time.

Room Tip: Room 2001 can be prepared to a hotel suite. The building is period and has its quirks, the only down...

I had dinner here on Saturday evening and the food, service and setting was fantastic.

We were a large table plus a 5 month old, we had our own little area, the wood burner made the setting extremely welcoming and cosy.

Recommended to anyone with children, look forward to going again.

I felt the need to write a few words following a recent trip to Chameleon House restaurant in Harleston. We went with rather high expectations and were certainly not disappointed. The service was excellent from the moment we walked through the door, friendly attentive staff that know how to make you feel welcome but without too much shmooze. I chose the beetroot and goats cheese risotto which was delicious and everything that followed was equally as good. This is one of the most enjoyable meals that we've had for a while. Freshly prepared, well thought out food that leaves you feeling nicely full.

We have been here many times and just wanted to add my support on how good the place is. Ginny the owner will always give you a warm welcome, and her staff are just top draw.
The food is perfect and have to say as a steak man, they have done it perfect everytime.
All of our Friends and Relatives that have been with us agree that everything is just right.
As always don't just take my word for it, give it a try, I am sure you will be very content on your way home.

We visited Chameleon house for my husbands birthday lunch; just us and our 1 year old. We were made to feel very welcome including our daughter. We had the pigeon and sea bass; I cannot recommend the pigeon enough. It was just exquisite and full flavoured. When we have enough time we will definately visit again. Shame it isn't open on Sundays so we can see what dinner is like...

We stayed here for three nights over Christmas while visiting family in Harleston. Pete and Ginny gave us a very warm welcome and showed us to our very spacious and comfortable room with its own entrance so we could come and go as we pleased. Our room was festively decorated with a Christmas tree, our bed was absolutely huge and extremely comfortable, as were the two leather chairs and sofa in front of the TV. Even though our hosts must have been extremely busy with their own family our beautifully cooked breakfasts were promptly delivered to our room every morning with a smile. There is a newly opened restaurant downstairs which we didn't have an opportunity to try but we are very much looking forward to returning there sometime soon.
