“What a great pub”
Reviewed 24 October 2013

Well, I deceided to give it a go after reading some positive reviews on Tip Advisor. Met with a Dutch family, so there were 4 adults, two children and a baby all together.
As soon as we walked in we were made to feel welcome. This is like pubs used to be before cheap supermarket booze took over.
All the locals were there at the bar laughing and drinking, a few dogs wandering about too. Like a stereotypical pub you see on telly.
We were all pleased with the quality of the meals and the level of service, which was always pleasant and attentive.
Prices not the cheapest, expect £5 for starter / dessert and £10 for main course, but the food was good and atmosphere fantastic.
Had a great pint of Tribute too!!
Will definitely go back again, hopefully to try the Thursday £5 curry night.
Thank you for an excellent evening.

“Excellent value for good food in a pleasant ambience”
Reviewed 2 September 2013

I was very favourably impressed by the welcome. The food is definitely above the "pub grub" but not so fancy as to be too challenging for the kitchen or the patrons' wallets. It was well prepared and tasty. The dining rooms are connected to but separate from the bar and have a warm atmosphere with bare brick and good lighting. The service was friendly and prompt. I would definitely go back.

“Curry for a fiver!”
Reviewed 4 August 2013

Visited on Thursday curry night, two friends and three kiddies. Good curry for a good price :)
Camped locally and it was well worth the visit for a change from the BBQ scene :)
Good service

“A nice friendly pub with fantastic food”
Reviewed 26 July 2013

We thought we would have an evening meal here, we relaxed with a drink before having a meal and made our choice from the menu which was fantastic value with lots of variety.
There was myself, my husband and our little boy and we were made to feel very welcome here, the bar lady was lovely and the chef Martin was fab too who was taught by Delia Smith.
The portion sizes were just right and the food was very nice, we will certainly be returning again soon.
