Tucked away behind a myriad of ancient buildings you'll find this little bit of history, a showcase for the way this pretty Waveney Valley market town used to be (not that it's changed much) and a trip back in time to days gone by. A must if you are visiting Harleston, but you can also seek out some 200 listed buildings and the revitalised Corn Exchange nearby, with its Victorian shopping arcade and delightful tea room. Wonderful.

This is a hidden gem in this dear little market town, (Wednesdays) tucked away at the back of the town up from the church but which is only open May to September, Wednesday 10 - 12 and 2 - 4 and Saturday mornings 10 - 12. Although tiny it is jammed packed with nostalgic memorabilia especially from Harleston's industrial past when it's two factories, Pye and Howards, were the main employers for miles around. It is a must for anyone who used to live in the town to take a trip down memory lane and to encourage those who may have photos of Harleston's colourful past to donate them to the museum. My father and I use to run our family shop, Mooney's, here 40 years ago so it was nice to see our name in print and I will now dig out some photos of Dad and the shop to donate for their collection, including ones of his famous window displays with colourful posters being made by Derek Kenyon! Whilst in Harleston visit the market, the new refurbished Corn Exchange and all the independent shops; a great day out!
