“Do not stay at this hotel”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

We'd argue that the primary purpose of a hotel is to provide somewhere to sleep. However, the Alexander Beach Hotel is more than happy to deny you of that privilege. It appears the hotel is happier to accommodate a wedding party blasting out music just a few feet from your room until 5am, than it is to consider the needs of any other guests.

If you are the sort who stays out until 5am anyway and considers this not to be an issue. Then don't worry the ABH will still make you wish you hadn't booked as the cleaning staff will wake you around 10am to ask if you want your room cleaned. Nothing so novel as a "Do not disturb" sign in sight at this hotel.

Wifi is patchy at best, and only available in the reception- the ABH are far from technologically advanced. Their breakfasts are definitely not worth getting up for unless you enjoy fly covered sausages and bad coffee.

I would like to thank the ABH for ruining our time in Greece. A definite zero star establishment.

Stayed at this hotel with my wife and kid around Easter, for 2 weeks.

Starting with the positive points:
1. hotel location (very close to the sea, only separated by the road- there is an underground passage), half way between Anavyssos and Saronida,
2. sea view,
3. beach bar,
4. free wifi (at the reception only and working only if not too many clients ;-)

Now the negative points:
1. Breakfast: it was of POOR quality even for greek 3-star hotel standards! There was NO HONEY!! (first hotel in the world where I didn't find honey for breakfast - and greek honey is the best in the world btw). Instead, there was some horrible jam (make "Best Price" - no kidding!). There were some sausages that each day were in smaller quantities (inevitable to think they were the same each day re-warmed). And of course NO FRESH milk for the kid.
And of course there was no special breakfast on Easter Sunday (although greek traditional pastry is quite rich)...
2. WC was leaking (despite pointing it out at the reception)...
3. The lift was out of order for more than 2 days (after notifying the reception).
4. The owners' behaviour towards guests varied from indifference to total lack of respect.

We paid 50 euros per night - it was certainly not worth 1 cent more.

Great location, really friendly staff and lovely pool, clean rooms!! And the affiliated dive shop is really good - recommend diving the site with the vases. Hmm need to write more to get the 300 characters.....

My first impression of the hotel was not good. I felt that the owner was kind of rude or maybe she was just tired and noone was there to take us to our rooms so we had to find them by ourselves...
When I first entered the room and checked the bathroom I found dirt on the corners and behind the bathroom door. We were a group of six and the two other bathrooms were cleaner than mine though. On the other hand the bath tub the toilet seat and the sink looked clean so that was good. The room is spacious and freshly painted and they offered to add an extra bed or crib for my son but we slept all together in the double bed and it was fine. The bed was comfortable and the furniture in the room was new but the closet was very old thank god I had brought my own hungers (there was only one provided) and I wouldn't dare to use the drawers! There is also a small refregerator in the room which we used a lot.
The view from the room was amazing.
The pool area was nice and there is an underground tunnel that takes you to the beach so that you don't have to cross the road.
The food at the restaurant was very good, I liked everything I tried, especially the souvlaki and the grilled chicken breast but also the pasta and the salads. The guy who runs the restaurand was very kind and helpful.
Now... the breakfast. Big dissapointment! The coffe is the worst coffee you can get and the milk didn't taste any better either. The food they had was ok.
There is free parking within the hotel and if there is no room you can find a space outside.
The stuff was kind and helpful and no matter the pressure always smiling.

the anavyssos alexander beach hotel gives you the opportunity to pay from 50 euros per night for a double room with breakfast. it has the sea view and pool view at the same price, while across the street there s a lovely beach. I dont think there s anything else to look for when on holidays in Attica....at least I didnt. I was off to a wedding at Lagonissi so I stayed there but now I plan to go there again . Great stuff. there s internet too as well as parking
