i was going to this tavern when i was a small boy with my father...then we kind of forgot it and rediscovered it some few days ago...it seems as if not a single day has passed allthough i am 20 years older...the food is tasty and nice and fair....all the roasted stuff are good.you should definetely try the beatroot salad with yoghurt apple and garlic, the freshly cut and fried potatoes, the veal, the so called bouyiourdi. This place is really close to the historical center of athens and is also open on sundays till late afternoon.

This tavern is a surprise for anyone interested in seeing what a tavern might have looked like during the 1950's in Athens. If you expect a modern day tavern in the area of Psiri then this is not for you but if you are interested in an antique styled tavern with great food then you have found it. This is a one of a kind tavern in the ever changing world of Greece that only locals know about. Be sure to bring a camera along with an apetite for tasting real traditional Greek food.

Aschimopapo is a typical athenian neighboorhood grill tavern, serving very good and well grilled meat, and is very economic

If you find your way there, do try the grilled "panseta", "exohiko" and pasturma pie, the store specialties to our opinion!
