In a few words, Hotel Tony is the BEST !! Tony is very helpful and friendly and can make your stay in his hotel worth it. Tony provided me with a map and what places i should visit, he arranged me a taxi to the airport, he showed me in which restaurants i should eat (he will tell you how to reach there without street names, 2 blocks straight, turn left .... something like this).
I stayed in the new part of the hotel, very nice studios.
What is the best about this hotel is that it is close to all the nice places to visit, it is very close to the Acropolis ( 5 minutes walking ) and close to the new Acropolis Museum.

Room Tip: Rooms in the new part of the hotel are very nice.

We stayed two nights at hotel Tony and were very happy. Tony very helpful in arranging taxi, giving advice on hwat to see, where to eat. Hotel is within walking distance of acopolis, plaka, Acropolis museum and the parliment buildings. We were in the new part of hotel rooms were comfortable and pretty quiet as the building is on a little used side street

Hotel Tony is the real thing. A spotlessly clean, inexpensive, family run hotel in the heart of Athens – a home away from home. Tony is a hands-on owner, always willing to help a needy tourist. Whether it’s arranging a taxi to the airport, giving tips on local restaurants and merchants, or giving brusque but accurate directions by simply gesturing (without naming a street): “Three over that way, one down!” “That way! Keep going straight!” The hotel is in Koukaki district, a working class neighbourhood within walking distance of The Acropolis and most other attractions. Our spacious room was in the newer annex: balcony, kitchenette, and a comfortable bed. There is a wonderful bakery just down the street and many good inexpensive restaurants nearby. Tony recommended the Ambrosia and Pizzeria Romas – both excellent. For a special treat, make reservations at Strofi, an upscale restaurant where you can enjoy dinner on the roof overlooking The Acropolis.

Room Tip: It's not a big hotel. Reserve well in advance. Ask Tony to arrange taxi to and from the hotel.

We were very happy with the 2nd floor room with kitchen facilities. Very clean and comfortable. Some newer fluffy towels would have been an extra plus.
The assistance we got from Tony was fantastic, and we were able to enjoy Athens at our own pace and found his friendly recommendations of great help, especially the museum café where it is free, and we enjoyed sitting looking at the acropolis, and then wandering through the antiquities at our leisure. The location was local, excellent and easy to get to everything we wanted to see. A small table put in the room at our request was a plus and we enjoyed our home from home and would happily recommend this to any traveller. Tony is the extra star on the hotel rating.

Stayed here in August 2013 with my girlfriend. The room was very clean and modern. The fridge and sink in the room was bonus. Loved the location right near the foot of the acropolis. The neighborhood felt very safe.

The hotel is less than a ten minute walk from a metro station which made it easy and cheap to get to the airport.

Stayed end of september in hotel tony. What a really brilliant gem of a hotel. Dont be worried about the outside look - its in a local neighbourhood but really lovely boutique rooms. They are not massive but the one we stayed in had a lovely balcony aircon and a rain shower. Beds we comfortable and the hotel seemed very quiet.

Tony really really want to make his place the best he can and is really helpful. We got there late and he arranged a taxi - he was on site to let us in - and recommended good eateries close.

The hotel has a brilliant location for the all the locations you want to view. We never used the metro as we could walk.

Excellent value for money and when we come again we will stay.

Thanks Tony -

Room Tip: Dont go budget - its a little more but worth it

We must've gotten the smallest room in the hotel. For 3 women, we felt like we were in a sardine can. We were in the basement and according to the hotel, it's considered the 1st floor. We definitely didn't get the nicer room like the other travelers.

When you're in the basement = no wifi, no internet access. We only got wifi if we stepped outside of the building or in the lobby.

The bathroom was "super" small, shower was very narrow and I'm a petite woman and I had trouble moving around and you can't contain the water from making a mess of the floor. For some reason, the Greeks installs the towel bar 7 feet high. I could barely reach to hang my towel. Just odd.

The AC was working well during the Sept. heat wave.

My first night, I woke up itching my legs. My friends and kept getting bit by bugs or something during our stay there. I mentioned it to the owner, Tony and he said, "That's impossible! In 27 years, no one has ever complained!" Funny how everyone says that and yet you can't refute the evidence. Anyway, Tony was a good character.

A decent location, we walked everywhere, no need to taxi. The beds were terribly hard and my back hurt every morning. I had to lay down additional two layers of blankets to have some cushion. If you like extra firm mattresses and feeling springs, you'll love the beds here.
