We were 2 families of 5 persons and got 2 suites that were very nicely renovated and comfortable for all. In one of the rooms the A/C was not as strong... but other than that we were very happy with the rooms. The location is very close to the Acropolis and Plaka and we spent 2 enjoyable days exploring the area.
Tony was very nice and helpful, thank you Tony for the pleasant stay!

Tony place is the result of perhaps 40 years of hardwork and dedication by Tony the owner... The renovated rooms are simply lovely. The location is perfect. Very calm and secure neighbourhood close to acropolis and Plaka.... And great non touristic restaurants in drakou street nearby.... Tony is genuinely helpful and caring. Highly recommended. I hope Tony's son will carry his legacy in the same fashion.....

Very good location (close to the Acropolis and Plaka) and near the metro station. A nice big room, recently refurbished, perfect for five persons (we had an extra bed), worked fine for our small children. Wi-fi which worked. Good value for money.

We have just spent 4 nights here and can highly recommend. We booked an economy studio and it was a pleasant surprise, very modern with good facilities. They are doing some renovations which did not inconvenience our stay but will make future stays even more enjoyable. It is easy walk to Acropolis, Agora, Plaka, Metro and multitude of restaurants. We came from Paros and Tony had arranged a taxi to meet us from the ferry which was a godsend! The driver was waiting for us with our surname on a sign, easy to find. One afternoon we came back to find all our washing folded and on the bed - it's these little things that make the difference. Great value for the price!

First this is basically a family/owner operated hotel. Tony is well placed owning a hotel and is very personable and helpful. His recommendation are very good. Hotel is being updated and our room was pristine. The lift did work despite reviews I saw saying it didn't. The construction and updating never affected our stay or sleep.
Our room was new, stylish, clean and awesome. Location is great very near (walking distance to almost everything historic.(5-15 minute walk).
Now the slight downsides. Air condition wasn't the best (new but not upto US standards but American standards on A/C are higher than most of the world)
and one minor detail is a shower curtain in the bathroom would be nice.

We just let Athens after staying there for 3 days. When planning, we looked for hotels for quite a while, especially wanting AC, since July is HOT in Greece and not all girls have it. After walking around all day, you just want to come back to a little air conditioning.

We chose Hotel Tony based on a couple of things.
1. It had a mini frig and microwave and some basic dishes. We liked to grab breakfast and snacks at a mini market and eat out on the balcony. We even reheated a dinner that was enough for two meals since there was a microwave. We didn't do this every night, but eating breakfast, lunch and dinner out every day can get expensive!

2. It is NOT in the Plaza or another neighborhood that is overrun with tourists. Everyone walking around was a local, but it wasn't too far or out of the way either.

3. It is literally 5 minutes from the Sygrou-Fix metro stop and you can get to almost anywhere by taking the metro. One note, the map provided on Tony's website was hard to follow and we went in every direction except the correct one once we got out of the subway. It was actually very close, but the map was not as helpful as we thought it would be. Tired, hot and jet-lagged, we finally hailed a cab that took us 5 minutes up the street! Even though the guy at the reception desk sort-of made fun of us for getting a taxi, we were happy to do so after being lost and hot for 20 or more minutes. Pulling luggage up the hill is not fun by any stretch.

4. Most rooms, including ours, have been very recently renovated.

5. It was affordable by Athens standards.

The one thing we did not like about the hotel was not important enough to shy away. The shower, being newly renovated in a modern style, had no door- just a half wall, as seems to be more common in Europe. Thus, no matter how you do it, taking a shower sprays water all over the floor of the bathroom. Don't bother putting down bath mats, they just get soaked. There was a drain, but the floor stayed wet for a while. It was annoying, but not the worst thing in the world.

I booked a room and got an e-mail the next day offering to their services to provide a taxi to the hotel and to assure the room was ready for me. I cannot speak to the accomodations but the staff are responsive, concise and friendly in e-mail conversation.
