Convenient to Acropolis, metro, Piraeus and available for late night check in and early morning check-outs with taxi availability for ferry and airport conncetions. Tony and his relatives who staff the desk can also get you a seat with a fabulous view of the Acropolis from Strofi's restaurant at the last minute on a Friday evening. Friendly and helpful and great price in quiet central location.

Like all large cities, Athens can be loud, full of traffic, and difficult to settle into without some help. At Tony's hotel, there IS help -- every day, all the time. Tony, his brother and the rest of the staff are unfailingly friendly and helpful. The hotel is spotless, the decor is contemporary and clean, and though they vary in size, the rooms are comfortable without being overwhelming. It is almost as if the hotel and its owner are designed to give you the best of the Greek experience, almost within the shadow of the Acropolis. And the price? Reasonable!

Hotel Tony is situated about 10-15 minutes walk from the Acropolis and other sites. It is located in the Koukaki district with a five minute walk to great restaurants. The metro station Sygrou Fix is a five minute walk. The metro is great for getting to Syntagma, Monastiraki etc. You can walk to most of the major sites like the National Gardens, Keramaki Cemetary etc. Though my accomodations were lacking the hotel probably has many nicer rooms, so spring for a nice one. I paid $65 Euros for a small room with no charm and the shape was ackward, I thought this room was overpriced for 65 Euros. However, Tony and his family were very helpful to us during our stay. Athens is very gritty and messy with stray dogs and cats everywhere, so the only reason to go is for the Archaeological ruins. It is very hot even at the end of September, so October is probably a better time to go. Take the bus to Marathon while in Athens and Stay in the Pelopenesse (Nafplion) where you can visit Delpi, Mycenai, Corinth all by bus.

It is very expensive to get to the Islands by ferry; we went to Santorini for two nights, I would have skipped it. The ferry ride is 5-8 hours depending on what you pay. Then again I mainly wanted to visit archaeological ruins and not much more. If you stay in Nafplion in the Peloponesse you must swim in the Aegean it is like bathwater!

Highly recomended for those who want to avoid the big noisy luxurious expensive hotels in Athens. New renovated rooms, high/very modern decoration, very good service, 500m from underground station, 1km from Acropolis and new Acropolis museum. It is a small hotel will offer great pleasure to its customers.

Tony's Hotel has an excellent location in Athens, being a ten minute walk from Plaka. The area felt safe at night and a few restaurants near by. Room was new, had good facilities but was in a basement so lacked natural light. Tony provided friendly and knowledgable service. We thought for the price (compared to other options in Athens) it was a good option, but don't expect luxury.

The room is newly renovated and very new and spacious. Location is great and we could walk to all the main attractions within 20 minutes. It is also very close to Metro so you don't need to catch a taxi to go to airport.
All the staffs are extremely helpful and friendly also the reception is open for 24 hours. Definitely good for value!

Overrated; not a hidden gem!
2 singles not comfortable beds next to each for a ''double bed'', room was small, toilet was small and not at all like the pictures posted on website.
On a positive note, Tony was efficient in answering back to my emails, but haven`t seen him during my stay. His cousin was nice but not more. Location is good; near metro and walking about 15 min to acropolis.
I expected a small nice hotel with great service according to the positive reviews but was truly disappointed. I felt like I was staying at the wrong hotel! Beware, no credit card is accepted.
