Anafiotika and the Mythical Hills of Athens Walking Tour
Ranked #29 of 333 things to do in Athens

During our tour of the Acropolis we came across this large rock and it's significance in history. I am more spiritual than religious myself but going to the top of this (very slippery) hill where Apostle Paul spoke was a must! It's beauty lies in it's spiritual history (it's in the Bible), apparently Paul was shocked to see all the idolatry in Athens and it's where he preached to the masses about Jesus, he was very well received by the Greeks (obviously). This happened circa 59 AD, just amazing. Don't miss this spot no matter what your faith is.

Filopappou hill is very quiet, not touristy and still quite entertaining. It's right across the way from the Acropolis but hardly anyone was there on our visit. I got the impression many people often overlook it. It's worth it just for the stroll but it has awesome views of the city and great historical significance.

This beautiful hill adjacent to the archaeological site of the Acropolis, instead I'd like to point out that you can enjoy the scenic beauty of this place .
I think it is one of the most beautiful scenic spots of Athens and definitely a place to visit.
Outstanding to be here at sunset when the monument on the hill is lit up and the lights of the city rise the show is unique, Athens view from here is even more beautiful.

The Pnyx was the place where the politicians of Ancient Greece were debating and voting and taking decisions. This is the cradle of democracy. Great place to relax after touring Athens, it's in the midst of nature, very quiet, and offers great view of the Parthenon.
