“Nice, But Not #2 in Athens!”
Reviewed 15 September 2013

... this is my personal opinion, but I would not rank this as the #2 attraction in Athens (which TripAdvisor does)... there are many stronger contenders, including the Parthenon, Temple of Athena-NIke, even the Temple of Olympian Zeus... however, this is unique as one of the almost complete structures that are still standing. it is included as one of the sites you can visit when you buy the Acropolis ticket for 12 euros.

“Well worth the 12€ price tag which included all the big attractions”
Reviewed 14 September 2013

We didn't know what to expect with the ancient temples in Athens but this is truly worth seeing, it is included in the 12euro package which also gets you into the acropolis & the temple of Zeus. There is also some beautiful places to eat just outside the perimeter fence.
This is definitely the hidden gem of Greece especially in the condition that it is in.

“My favorite part of the Agora”
Reviewed 13 September 2013

Loved the Temple. It's so well preserved - I guess since it was used for many years as a church. You can imagine all the gatherings here as you walk around the structure. Absolutely beautiful and not to be missed in Athens.

“very good”
Reviewed 11 September 2013

It was worth to spend some time to see this temple. It's in very good condition, with a roof and undamaged columns. They could let go inside or at least closer to the temple.
Students from UE can get there for free - just take your students card or ISIC.

“Totally overlooked gem”
Reviewed 11 September 2013

The Temple of Hephaistion is stunning. It's as old as the Parthenon, 95% intact and overlooked because bus tours rarely venture into the Agora. If you want to experience an authentic Greek temple with a couple dozen people instead of hundreds, wander into the Agora to view Hephaistion.
