Owner description: This ancient Greek temple, located on the Acropolis and dedicated to Hephaistos, god of the forge, is one of the few temples to be almost entirely preserved.

Be sure to visit Ancient Agora just for that temple. Very nicely preserved, gives great impression of what ancient Greek temples looked like.the only wish is that they would allow people in, but even on the ourside it's impressive.

Thank Tordosss

This is not a ruin, rather a fully intact ancient temple. All the walls, ceilings etc are still in place and it's really super cool. So happy I made it out there to see, I would certainly recommend.

This temple is located in the Agora and if you pay 12 euro for the multi site ticket of Athens this location is included in the ticket. When you are at the top of the Acropolis you see this temple and wonder what it is. Take the time to go down and see it. The site is huge and because so few people were there the day I went it seemed like I was walking in the steps of Greeks from 600 BC and not the steps of the tourist in front of me. Right now is a great time to visit all the sights of Greece because unfortunately people are staying away because of the politics of the country don't let this stop you from going. However this made my trip seem a little more special because all of the attractions had so few people there you felt as if you had the site to yourself.

Located in the Agora, the Temple of Hephaestus is well preserved & only 4€. It can be seen from the Acropolis & it is open from 0800-1500 daily. If you are in Athens you need to make time to see it for yourself.

After viewing the ancient agora, the temple was a nice reprieve from the Athens heat. My husband and I sat and relaxed in the shade for a moment before continuing our sight-seeing. The condition of the temple is amazing.
