Owner description: This ancient Greek temple, located on the Acropolis and dedicated to Hephaistos, god of the forge, is one of the few temples to be almost entirely preserved.

This temple is magnificent and a must see in Athens. It has withstood the test of time in a stoic and yet graceful manner. If only those walls.....er......columns could talk!

It is my opinion that anyone interested in the least in ancient ruins should visit this temple. It is incredibly preserved. Very little imagination is needed for this one. Include it in your itinerary.

From all the temples I've visited this is probably the one that has been best preserved. It's really impressive. A must see.

My husband and I spent a week in Athens, Greece and had a view of The Temple of Hephaestus from our hotel ~ The Royal Olympic Hotel~ One of the historic sites that is a must see on a trip to Athens. There are many bus tours and even a small train tour to see the Temple up close. Be sure to make sure you make a trip to the Temple during your vacation in Athens!

Unlike most temples in Athens, this one doesn't require much imagination to see what these temples looked like. You still have to imaging the painting, design, decoration and functions, but the structure is there. My sons (ages 0 and 12) are real Greek Mythology buffs and enjoyed visiting this temple. They were a little disappointed at the Temple of Poseidon because not much of it is standing.

It was closed when we tried to get in but still, we could see it standing on Adrianou Street. It looks great from outside and I wish we could visit there.
