“Really pleased we stayed there”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

Me and my boyfriend stayed in Areos Hotel for two nights in May 2014 and were really pleased with our choice. Here are the highlights:

Staff: Staffs are very polite and always helpful. Anthony gave us some great travel tips and saved us from walking the wrong way.

WIFI: Excellent signal. Very stable throughout.

Location: It's only 5 minutes walk from Victoria Metro Station. It's also close to the University and have lots of cafes nearby. We felt very safe in that area.

Room: We stayed on the 5th floor. Bed is super comfy. The room is compact but comes with a big terrace. In particular, the shower head is powerful and the bathroom is spacious. The location of the toilet seat is a bit tight but not a problem for us.

Overall, no complaint. Excellent value for money. Will stay here again.

The hotel is located about a 5 minute walk to the Victoria metro station where you can hop a train to all the central sights. I had a smallish room on the 3rd floor. Firm but comfortable bed, modern clean bathroom. Storage is limited and there was no chair at the desk. Breakfast buffet was included in the room price and offered a fairly typical selection- boiled eggs, toast, cheese etc. All just about OK. Friendly, helpful staff at the front desk. Bar stays open until midnight. All OK if you're looking for an affordable base in Athens.

The hotel really close to the historical center and has a your public and staff, and not in a party crazed way.
Andreas, one of the concierges was amazing and gave me the best hints around town, as well as a more than detailed map explanation. Everything was truly amazing.
Definitely recommend it!

We had the suite at 7th floor which is the only accommodation at that floor. Beautiful views over the city from two balconies. Nice location and interesting neighborhood with a lot of local business. 500m to a good variety of nice restaurants and 10min to the metro that takes you right in to the center

I had booked two night with this hotel, but when I arrived they had some plumbing issues and couldn't accommodate me that night. He assured me the would have it fixed in the morning. Arrangements had already been made for me to stay at the Best Western down the street. They offered to call me a taxi, but I offered to walk down the street so the host walked with me and carried my luggage. The night at the best western was okay, breakfast was good, but Areos was much nicer! The next day I left the best western early but they had already arranged to bring my luggage to Areos. When I arrived later that night I was offered a complementary drink at the adjoining bar/cafe. It was within walking distance of the acropolis. I would stay again.

We stayed in Athens for a few days prior to a spot of island hopping. The hotel was modern and clean & the staff were polite and very helpful. The hotel is located a few doors away from the 5 star Radission (albeit around the corner). The Victoria Metro station is a short walk away as is the National Archaeological Museum. The Acropolis and surrounding sites are accessible via 3 or 4 stops on the Metro. We stopped at Monastiraki (stop number 3) and walked around Plaka. The only thing that I would mention to be aware of is crossing the road - a lot of vehicle's don't stop even when the pedestrian crossings are green! Overall we had great short stay with no complaints. Happy travels :-)

Whilst a little out of the main tourist area the access to Victoria metro is only a quick walk ay and direct access to all of Athens. We had a deluxe double room (#503) which was huge. Well worth the few extra Euros as it also had a balcony which was at least 20m2 itself with table and chairs and 2 sun lounges. The best shower in a hotel for a long time. Front office staff very friendly and helpful. Agree with other posts the area is lacking in restaurants and the ones nearby required walking through a run down area with lots of relative undesirables but were never bothered by them. est to eat elsewhere and travel home by Metro. Considering the size of the room and the inclusive breakfast the was very good value for money and would recommend the extra money having seen the standard rooms when they were being cleaned.

Room Tip: Deluxe double with balcony worth the extra
