The staff at the hotel was very nice and the hotel overall is very clean. However the rooms are small, the TV reception is not good and the free wifi was equivalent to not having it. Also the bathroom lighting could be stronger, and on our last day, there was no hot water. The hotel is a good 30 minutes walk from the center, in a quiet part of town, and good for catching rest. The heat was controlled by the front desk and it was so hot in the room in december that we had to sleep with a window open.

Very good value for what you get, as the prices were very affordable and it was close to the metro. There are some exaggerations on TA about the neighbourhood - we felt safe and it was so close to the metro that it was no problem. However, to go to the city center is still not very close and it took us a good 30-45 minute walk to get to the main area with the attractions. Also, there is not much to eat/do around the hotel so if you have a night in or a last morning to kill before a flight, you have to go out with your luggage as there's not much around. Rooms were also a tad small, but not too bad.

Other then that, the property was very nice. Breakfast was very good, place was clean and tidy and staff were friendly - overall a good experience.

It is so fantastic (and unfortunately rare) to find a really great, reasonably priced hotel in a big city. The Athens Lotus is very nicely appointed, very clean and comfortable, nice staff. Proximity to the metro makes it an ideal location - a two minute walk and two stops tothe tourist area, but so easy to come away from that mob scene and relax in a tranquil environment. Room/bed very comfortable, bathroom great, clean, clean, clean. Breakfast was good but not great - must pay extra for espresso/capuccino, an annoyance easily fixed by the hotel if they choose, but the cost of the room with breakfast was so reasonable that it is hard to complain. Some reviewers have suggested that the neighbourhood is questionable - I disagree, it is just a working class residential neighborhood away from the tourists (yay!).

Room Tip: Go to Aleria restaurant 4 blocks away... one of the best resto meals we have ever had! Be sure to re...

I will definitely stay there again. Very close to metro. Staff was very friendly and helpful! Room was spotless. Area felt authentic and not touristy. It was convenient but off the beaten path and up and coming.

Stayed here for a three night city break and had a great time made all the more by the hotel staff with there friendly service. The hotel is situated near the centre of Athens only a 100yds to the nearest subway station (the best way to travel). We found it very clean, menu for breakfastvery good but did not stay for evening meals as we wanted to sitesee and eat out. It would of been nice to have tea making facilities in the bedroom which there is none. There is a lift to all floors but its small and slow and found it quicker to take stairs. There is a market all down the street on wednesdays. We will definitely stop at this hotel again next year and would recommend it to friends.
