We stayed here for my birthday weekend in Feb 2014 (3 nights). We booked a superior double room which was located in the new part of the hotel. The size of the room was good and had everything you would need apart from tea and coffee making facilities, which would have made it perfect. the room was very clean and serviced every day with clean towels. The bed was large and very comfortable. They need to provide instructions for using the room safe as we managed to lock it (empty) on arrival and couldn't open it again until the manager came the next day....definitely user error but meant we had to carry everything around with us on the first evening. Breakfast was included in our booking and it was a small but nice spreads of what you would expect of a continental breakfast. the Hotel is located up a small side street off a busy square. there is a metro station 3 mins walk from the hotel in the square which will take you to central Athens in 10 mins for about 1.40 Euros. The metro is very easy to navigate (wouldn't recommend walking into central Athens at night from the Hotel).

Room Tip: Go for a superior double in the new part of the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for a weekend break. The hotel is conveniently located near the metro station in a quiet street. The hotel looks relatively modern and is strangely split into 2 buildings because our hotel room was at the back of the hotel through to an adjacent building. The hotel staff were really friendly and helpfully told usabout areas where we should go and visit. The room itself was smaller than normal hotel rooms but for the price it was def clean and had everything we could ask i.e.our own bathroom, AC, TV and free wireless!
I'd highly recommend this hotel. It ticks off so many boxes......location, amenities, helpful staff, price.

Some people say you should not eat somewhere if the toilet is dirty. Well, this hotel had the only CLEAN toilet (I've seen) in Athens!

The location is fine. You can buy a day ticket for the metro for 4euro, and the metro station is just around the cornor. We included breakfast in our booking, and we liked it. Nice orange juice, coffee, cereal, some meets and stuff..
The staff helped us several times with locations and other information, and they were friendly every time. The area is as safe as the rest of the city.

Room Tip: There is no big traffic outside, so the location of the room is not important. Our room on the four...

Athens Lotus hotel is run by a young, nice and helpful staff. It is conveniently located and, although there are other hotels which are better located in a general sense (e.g. those in the Syntagma area), this one was still OK as it is a mere 2 minutes walk to Metaxourgeio tube station.

As for the price, I think it is quite good value for money. It is clean, the Internet connection is free and works fine and your room offers an ample wardrobe, safe locker, comfortable bed, nice pillows and many other nice things. On the other hand, my room was rather small, and even though there was a workplace, the table was insufficient even for the ultra-portable laptops, the chair being far from comfortable. Besides, there was a horrible TV signal (see picture), with a very limited offer of international channels (90% Greek channels).

The room was also small and a bit noisy, this latter defect due to poor window isolation (double glazed, yes, but not working very well). I would therefore ask for a room in higher floors: mine was in the first floor. Just to mention that although the room was facing a fairly quiet side street, each conversation or car passing in the street at night was clearly audible inside the room, as well as the street market on Friday mornings, which is prepared from very early in the morning (beware!). The breakfast was just OK, very limited choices and the quality of the food was nothing to die for.

As mentioned, I would recommend the place as clean, well located and good value, specially if you are in the city for work or tourism and have plans to stay in the hotel only during the night. It is definitely not a good option if you want to spend some leisure time in the hotel (e.g. if you have kids) as the services are limited.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the top floor to avoid noise in the street

The hotel is located in the center of Athens only 50m from the subway, so it's very easy to see all the city. There is nothing special that you can see in the neighborhood but it's safe day and night. The staff is very friendly and professional. My room was quite small and without view but it was nicely decorated and very clean. The breakfast was below average.

We used the Lotus for the Athens Marathon. Ticked all the boxes and a wee bit more. Staff very friendly and informative. Location very good for central Athens and 2 minutes walk from the underground station. We gathered that it is in the Bulgarian/Albanian area; it is where the buses leave from anyway. Not the best area of Athens but in no way felt at risk. Nowhere is far away and in our three days we ate in lovely local restaurants within minutes of the hotel.

Hotel very clean and although no pool/gym etc, wi-fi available throughout and breakfast buffet sufficient enough to fill you up before your day in Athens. Our only gripe was that we had to leave early on for the marathon and they couldn't do anything for breakfast before our early start. If they were selling themselves as a marathon hotel then even a box of muesli and bowl of milk would suffice for runners. However there are a couple of late night bakers around so we didn't go hungry and it was our requirements to leave before 7am. All in all, we would recommend the Lotus.
