“Worth a detour!”
Reviewed 26 August 2014

Hidden right in the heart of the flea market, a meal at Cafe Avissinia is a lovely experience. First, there's the interior--stylish and authentic, filled with all sorts of interesting art and antiques. Second, there's the view of the Acropolis from the rooftop--travel memories don't get much better than this! Finally, there's the food...especially the appetizers and dessert, both of which are superb. The main courses are okay--they're honestly prepared, but a bit too "safe". If you order the Mahalepi dessert, a type of panna cotta bathed in rose water or the baklava with cinnamon, you'll feel that your trip here was definitely worth it. Wonderful staff--very conscientious and super friendly.

“Beautiful view”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

A wonderful setting with a truly stunning view of the Parthenon. We had a great baked cheese starter, although the other dishes were less memorable. Brilliant, friendly staff and a distinctive environment. We would definitely go back.

“Very special dinner in Athens - wow”
Reviewed 26 July 2014 via mobile

One of the most memorable dinners on our trip. Beg for a rooftop table and enjoy the stunning views. You'll spend the whole night pinching yourself - it's is truly amazing.
The food is excellent ( best cabbage rolls outside YiaYias kitchen ! ) and the service is brisk and efficient.
Hard to find but impossible to forget
