“Great service, rooms and within walking distance of the Acropolis at an affordable price.”
Reviewed 18 August 2011

We initially booked the Achilleas hotel, however were moved to Acropolis Hill because of a faulty AC in our room (Achilleas and Acropolis Hill belong to the same hotel chain). Service was excellent and friendly, breakfast wonderful and the pool was refreshing after a long day visiting all the beautiful and ancient sites in Athens. This is a brand new boutique hotel with relatively small rooms but great beds. The day we left we discovered there was a roof garden, however didn't have the time to check it out, however wouldn't be surprised if it had a view of the Acropolis. The location is unbeatable with 5 min. walk to the Acropolis and Plaka. Definately a great place to stay.

The best feature of this hotel is the prime location near all the main attractions. The room we stayed in was new and modern and we ate the nice buffet breakfast every day.
Now the negatives:
It has few amenities. No tissue, drinking glasses, robes, slippers, minibar, tea/coffee making facilities and very limited storage space for luggage. The fridge is not cold and there was wi-fi in the lobby but not in the room. Be careful of the narrow walkway between bed and wall because I got my head knocked by the hanging TV set. I was disappointed by Reception who was unfriendly and frequently not found at the counter (because he was taking many smoke breaks at the balcony). The metro is located at the foot of the hill so the climb up to the hotel is rather steep and arduous.
We are not sure if we would stay here again.....

We booked this hotel expecting the quality of service hotels usually offer in exchange for the kind of rate this hotel charges. They did not deliver.

The only positive thing about Acropolis Hill Hotel is its location a block away from the promenade around the Acropolis (which given the ongoing taxis strike across the country was very convenient). Our room was on the top floor, facing the hill and, bending over the balcony, one could see the Parthenon to the right and the sea at Piraeus to the left.

The room itself was however so narrow one had to make contortions to walk passed the bed, under the TV screen affixed to the wall. There was no storage room for our luggage and hardly enough space in the closet to hang a few shirts. The bathroom was only half-equipped, with a small handshower and no showerhead. Free wireless internet advertised as available in the entire hotel somehow stopped at the bedroom door. The breakfast buffet was scarce with tasteless coffee, bad watery orange juice, no pastries worth mentioning, few fresh fruits, and so on. No minibar in the bedroom (or kettle), but a bar in the hotel lobby manned by the receptionist (unfriendly and not the helpful kind).

And the list of complains goes on.

My husband and I just got back from Greece and wanted to say how much we enjoyed this hotel. It was clean, super convenient, only a short walk from the Parthenon and the Plaka and the Metro. Our only recommendation is if you are flying into Athens, take the Metro to the Acropolis Station to avoid the VERY steep walk or cab it from the airport because with luggage the walk from the metro stations can be difficult. The view from the terrace was amazing and the pool was perfect for the late afternoon when you want a break from touring. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed for 5 days while visiting Athens for work. The Acropolis Hill is a modern, quiet, well-run hotel that is close to many restaurants and cafes, as well as the Acropilis and other historical sites. The staff were helpful and friendly. I would definitely return

This is a newly renovated hotel in a quiet neighborhood in Athens. It is a 5 min walk to the Acropolis and the walking street that winds around all the sites in Athens. Go right out of the hotel and walk straight down the street till it ends. It is a 10 min walk to the metro (Acropolis stop). Right out of the hotel down the street till it ends and then right down the hill. Halfway down the hill on the right there is a great restaurant but I can't remember the name. One of our favorite meals-we sat on the rooftop and the owner just brought us a bunch of different greek dishes which were all great. The rooms were clean and comfortable. You can go up to the rooftop with a drink from the bar and watch the sunset which I highly recommend. There is a nice view of the Acropolis from the rooftop. We choose this hotel because we needed a triple room, the third bed was more of a couch but it was comfortable. Breakfast was pretty standard but good. Overall, we had a nice stay there and would stay there again.

We stayed for 8 nights and had a wonderful time. The room was comfortable and clean, but a little narrow. Both of us are tall and the flat screen on the wall was not a problem. We loved sitting on the roof terrace at night, watching the Parthanon light up. The terrace could use some umbrellas durring the day for shade. The breakfast was always ready by 7am, the dining room was nice. They now have a bar in the lobby, but no restaurent. We walked to the acropolis, agora, Plaka, Temple of Zeus and the metro. I'd stay there again.

Room Tip: ask for a room on the street side, good views
