After a bad start to our trip in Athens (nearly getting mugged in another area) this hotel was a blessing, it was in a great location to the main attractions in the city that you can walk to, and had a very safe feeling about it.
The rooms were good with nice little balconies overlooking the main street which is noisey and yet the rooms were still quite when the balcony doors where closed.
The garden bar on the roof is the hotels main attraction and is a wonderful place to start the night with a few drinks before heading down to the streets.
The breakfast was great with a good selection of everything you could want
The staff are nice and friendly and we could get our laundry and tours sorted from the front counter.
We were able to walk to the train station (approx 5-10min) from the hotel, to catch the train to the airport.
My partner and I love this hotel and would recommend it to anyone visiting Athens.

Atherns is a great city to visit. The main things to see and do our very easy to get to and this hotel is an ideal location for seeing the incredible sites like the Parthenon etc. and for the many restaurants, good gyros places, etc. The hotel is a good deal for the money, has perfectly adequate rooms, and a great rooftop deck with views of the acropolis. Breakfast is included and nothing special but fine and a great time to plan out your day and there was always a very helpful gal there very proactively providing guidance, suggestions, answering questions etc. There is a small elevator but we really never had to wait long and you can always take the stairs. I've traveled all over the world and stayed in many hotels from motel 6 to ritz carlton and assuming you have the right expectations for what you are paying for this place is a very good choice to make.

The location of hotel is excellent, is stone throw away from Monastiraki Station, 1min walk away from Ermou shopping district, short walk to all the main attractions. Roof top garden has an excellent view of Acropolis. Very friendly staff and very friendly GM that check with guests constantly if guests need any help from very simple matters to showing guests how to get around Athens. I will definitley want to stay here again.

The rooms were small but adequate. The view of the Acropolis is unmatched, especially at night from the rooftop lounge while having a glass of wine. It is within walking distance (2 blocks or less) of a large shopping district. All in all we could not have been more satisfied.

Our 4 night stay at Plaka Hotel was fantastic. We found a good price so were not expecting much, but found the rooms to be spacious and clean and the staff to be very friendly and helpful. It is the only time we have been to Athens, but we would definitely return to the same hotel. The rooftop bar has an amazing view of the Acropolis and the location offered an easy trip from the airport via train. Plaka Hotel is very central to everything and close to some fantastic eateries and shops. Staff really had an attitude of wanting to help. The Manager even came to breakfast every morning to make sure guests were satisfied with their stay and share ideas about itineraries for our day, which was incredibly useful as we didn't have a well prepared itinerary. We even overheard some other guests at breakfast who were equally as impressed as us saying "I can't believe there's not a waiting list to get in to this hotel". We are a lesbian couple and we felt very comfortable at this friendly hotel. It doesn't have a minibar, but they thoughtfully have left an empty fridge in the room so that we could take out cold drinks every day. My only issue (and seriously it is my ONLY complaint) is that the light outside the room on the street is quite bright so you need to make sure the curtain is pulled all the way across...pretty minor really. I thoroughly recommend the Plaka Hotel for an easy stay in Athens.

After walking around Athens and Plaka, i am glad i chose this Hotel. The Location is great. The problems with check in, fast and efficient. The room we had was on the 3rd floor with a slight view of the Acropolis. Doesn't really matter what aspect room you get, as the view from the roof top garden is brilliant.
Found the room to be very comfortable and on the larger than normal size. Bathroom was neat and functional. The beds to me were very comfortable. Breakfast is nothing special, but we left feeling satisfied. I do like the access to afternoon tea/coffee and cakes in the hotels restaurant.
Overall we were happy and yes would stay again

The Hotel was very well located and close to many highlights. The room was very comfortable with a/c. The bathroom was a little tired however this will be rectified in the overall plan of upgrading. The Mangeress was most helpful. Breakfast each morning was very good with good service.
We wouldn't hesitate in recommending the Hotel for people wishing to do the sightseeing tour of Athens.
